Here's the money quote:On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes -- and I see many of them in the audience here today -- our sense of patriotism is particularly strong.

Sometimes, ya gotta wonder if he plans what to say, or just rambles off into whatever pops into his head.

you guys aren't going to jump on the auschwitz/buchenwald controversy?
the one where by misspeaking, obama made everybody in the press find out for themselves that his uncle was serving in 89th infantry when we liberated buchenwald?
pretty clever, i'd say. this way everybody finds out about it without having to throw it in his stump speech every night.

I get the distinct feeling asroc that a lot of people on the "Right" like their politicians "dumbed down". The word "clever" doesn't seem to be in their vocabulary.

It was such an important experience in his life, having his great uncle participate in the liberation of a Nazi concentration camp, that he couldn't remember the name of the camp? I found it hysterical that he named a camp that the US didn't even participate in liberating whatsoever; but instead it was the Soviets.
