now i don't know how many of you watch the news and i don't even know if i spelled polygamist right but the whole reason I'm posting is that i received some disturbing news.the state of Texas has begun to award custody of the kids who were taken back to their parents for and i quote "lack of evidence" is anyone else disturbed by this? now i might add the judge who presided over this appeal was extremely conservative now one question i have is if these people are stuck in the 1800's and have never left their compound south of Eldorado how did they get such skilled lawyers? i suspect the Mormon church has hired these lawyers to get these kids back and they would have the money because as we all know churches are tax exempt and rake in donations like its nobody's business and i think this is where a good part of where those donations go i cant believe I'm saying this but I'm happy McCain has the position of republican presidential candidate and its not Mitt Romney because hes Mormon and would have donated money to his Church which would have went to this appeal now for those of you who don't know the details of this ordeal these people were stuck in the 1800's (mentally) older men are marrying underage girls and then getting them pregnant and if that weren't enough the so called "adults" in this community actually promoted these ideas as "moral" now the entire point of this post is to inform those who don't know and to let you all know that i am going to do what i can to get those kids out of the hands of those backwards people by starting a petition getting as many signatures as i can and trying to get to Texas with all these signatures and ill try to raise money to go to Texas with my petition and see if they will change their minds feel free to give your opinion i welcome it

Just the sight of those carbon copied, coiffed, bobsie look alike women is
enough to scare one to death! And mind numbed. I shudder to think about
the kids....the mothers are frightening enough.

I was also wondering where the FLDS and Mormons get their money. Is it from Bush defense contractors? If religious wackos really want to turn a blind-eye to child abuse and rape, then they should I guess. I'm not in any position to pass moral judgment on criminal behavior.

jcboston i can at least answer where the Mormon church gets their funding, donations. and again i believe that this is where at least a good portion of their charity is going. to promote child abuse and rape. thanks Joseph Smith.

I though Pedophilia was illegal in this country. I did not realize that religion could be used to protect pedophiles because I'm sure there will be a lot of jailhouse conversions.

If you are a member of the LDS you are required as part of that to tithe 10% of your yearly earnings every year to the church. That's where they get all their money...

Every Christian is to pay a tithe.

Not all Mormons are bad. I am not sure if this sect is for lack of a better word in communion with the official church.

The law is clear. A child belongs with his/her parents unless the parent is abusing the child either directly, mental, physical, sexual or indirectly, neglect. Child abuse is difficult to prove especially if the child is of an age where s/he should be able to tell us what is going on but refuses to do so.

The sheer volume of the case was working against the judge. Were all the children released to their parents? Nine times out of ten some children are still in the State’s custody. These children had bonafide instances of abuse and over time will feel comfortable enough to talk and hopefully spill the beans. Keep in mind these children are not ordinary children that go to public school and watch television. They are as foreign to us as Martians and require special counseling with people who understand the lifestyle.

The children that were released were probably assigned a social worker who is to drop in (unannounced) to check in on the kids. And that is better than what they had before the raid.

Anyone have any facts from a credible source or better a copy of the judge’s ruling? Was this relegated to Family Court? What is the closest city or county in West Texas where this occurred?

Has anyone seen The Village by Night Shamalan about Amish-like village in a nature preserve.

I swear the FLDS copied the idea and purchased the YFZ. It would be a good thing for a social worker to have regular access to the YFZ ranch and especially to marriage records going forward. Part of statutory rape in polygamy is to force a girl into marriage before she has the intelligence or independence to say no. Many FLDS fled to Mexico and I predict that many will again to escape the reaches of the law, in essence, a reverse-immigration. In reality, the gates and walls of the YFZ will be built even higher and more outsiders will be shut out. Its unfortunate that Human rights abuses are occurring on US soil, but its religion, right.

Guess this is a good example of Hitlarys "It takes a village". LOL!!!! Great
example....maybe that was her inspiration.:lmao2:

OK, yeah, tithing is practiced in religion, but again, where do the tithers get
their money to clear the other 90%? Do those people have any visible means
of support or do they get earmarks from their congressmen?
