The youngest son of Sen. John McCain has joined the Marine Corps and could be deployed to a war zone in a matter of months, according to a magazine report. Jimmy McCain, 18, will begin basic training in September. He'll spend three months in boot camp and undergo a month of specialized training before being assigned to a unit.

You don't think he's too old Tommy? :) I still think he has a good chance of not only getting my vote in 2008 but actually winning.

I do think he is way to old to be president

he seems fair and I believe that he will put the interests of the country first

I might vote for him
this country would be lucky to get him

but he's 71 now and it would be 3 years until he takes office

a lot of people don't live until 74 never mind finishing his term makes him 78

who ever runs with him as the VP will need to be looked at very hard

1 year is a long time when your in your 70s

all I want for president is someone that will be fair and honest
I dont care which side he's from
and I am not a single issue person

foremost I would love to see a woman as president, I have said this hunreds of times

its time somebody else gets a shot besides some old rich white man

I'm not opposed to a woman president, but I am opposed to Hillary. The thought of that turns my stomach.

The problem with a woman president right now, especially Hillary or anyone remotely like her, is this a dangerous time for the world. There's too many countries out there that have zero respect for women and will have no problem telling them to fuck right off. Condi Rice has already been told to fuck off by Iraq and Venezuela and she just repeats what she's told to say. Imagine what the more communist testosterone driven countries will do if a pushy ball-breaker was in charge.

If more sons and duaghters of these people went in I bet our government would not be so fast to deploy. That's just 1 reason I say 18 years old, mandatory enlistment for 2 years and the government pays 25% of your college.

I'm a big McCain fan but honestly don't believe he could get the republican nomination and I think he's too loyal to run as an independant. I think I could definately vote for a McCain / Leiberman ticket.

McCain is decent, but doubt he'll get the Rep. nod...he's stepped on too many toes. He also might be a shade too old.

it seems that the war is finally hitting the people who got us there... I just heard on CNN that another elected official is heading to Iraq (http://www.azleg.state.az.us/MembersPage.asp?Member_ID=44)... to fight in uniform for us  he is also from Arizona, same as McCain

and McCain is a war hero but he is ultra ultra conservative as is his base (my home state) and is way too far to the right to be president IMO, he will be another freedom trampler
