This is a 'selected' question from George Stephanopoulos's 'This Week' on ABC
'If We abruptly leave Iraq what is to stop the Iranians from invading Iraq?'
I thought of quite a few responses:
'Because they are not as stupid as we are?'
'Because they don't have a multitrillion dollar economy to prop up gross stupidity?'
'Because that is the one thing that might likely turn the majority Iraqi Shiites against them?'
'Because they haven't annexed Iraq to Iran in their minds the way American idiots have annexed Iraq to the USA in their minds?'
'Because we could never get THAT lucky?'
'Because they don't actually want the headaches we seem so desperate for?'
'Because they have no foggy disneyland notion outcomes imagined for Iraq?'
Like Iraq is such a 'prize'?
WTF are people thinking?
3 Trillion dollars, 4000+ American lives, 100,000 wounded Americans, [ignoring the gross injustice against Iraqis] an embarrassing exposure of American gross incompetence at every level of planning & execution.
This is like you are married to a 430 pound drug addicted, alcoholic meth addict who has killed, cooked & eaten your 3 children & you want to fight the guy trying to take her off your hands.
The Iranians need only make a polite request, we should very gladly [perhaps with wicked glee] hand them the whole kit & kaboodle.
Regrettably though the Iranians are unlikely to be that foolish & stupid.
It is only the luxury of wealth, where every foolishness & stupidity can be indulged, divorcing your every thought from reality that allows for the insanity of the American mindset & thinking about Iraq.
Wouldn't it be great if you could give some willing victim all your migraines?
Now instead of taking the aspirin of leaving Iraq, we are bound & determined to continue the treasury looting migraine of staying in Iraq.
