After Bush corporate welfare has sent Trillions overseas,
Bush sponsored criminal mortgage originators are collapsing American banking,
illegal immigration is drowning honest legal workers,
& the administration's policy outsourcing jobs continues,

Record numbers are forced onto food stamps.

More Americans need food stamps

WASHINGTON, March 31 (UPI) -- The Congressional Budget Office projects a record 28 million people in the United States will receive food stamps during the coming fiscal year.

The CBO says a mix of layoffs and rising prices for food and energy will boost the number of recipients to the highest level since the program was established in the 1960s, The New York Times reported Monday.

While the percentage of Americans receiving food stamps was higher after a recession in the 1990s, the CBO says the actual number didn't reach this year's projection of 28 million.

Stacy Dean of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities in Washington told the Times that 14 states saw the number of food stamp recipients reach record levels last December. One-year growth was 10 percent or more in Arizona, Florida, Maryland, Nevada, North Dakota and Rhode Island.

In Michigan, one-in-eight residents is receiving food stamps.

Federal benefit costs for the food stamp program are projected to rise to $36 billion in the 2009 fiscal year that begins Oct. 1.http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/Top_News/2008/03/31/more_americans_need_food_stamps/4047/

Now add to this the fact that the Completely UN-green corn-ethanol biofuels subsidies are driving up food prices both here & around the globe.

You know when you get screwed this terribly, over & over you have every right to become violently enraged, let alone angry.

I often wonder WTF the 28% of Americans that still approve of his job are thinking. More likely smoking.

Do they only listen to the Radio?

Look out, pretty soon Bush will decide that these people don't need food stamps. Soon you will hear that all of these people are just lazy illegal immigrants who should be pulling themselves up by their own boot straps. And there goes another part of the welfare system Bush is putting so many people on.

I wish. Unfortunately Bush loves entitlements and welfare.

Can you still get food stamps cheap? I remember when you could get them for .50 on the dollar or a 24 pack of beer.
