When talking head Hannity says "we must win the war in iraq", what does that mean? I am sick of hearing that political sound bite because no one ever explains it. Why don't reporters push for an answer on that statement. Please define what winning is and how we are measuring it. Wow!

Talking heads are talking heads.

Too bad people listen to them.

I wish I knew myself.
In the darkest corners of my mind I'm afraid it means that Cheney gets to steal their oil.
I think that we should certainly stay long enough to try to get folks to talk to each other, the Sunnis and the Shites are family, that relationship can be mended. We also need to rebuild what we have destroyed.
I can't remember another time when we have preemptively struck out at another country, this is a grim reminder as to why it's a bad idea.
For me, winning in Iraq would be to try to mend fences between the different factions in that country and to rebuild their cities and to bring our kids home, but it's hard to define winning when I have no idea why we started this in the first damn place.

We've already accomplished out mission. The President said so years ago. Obviously victory was never part of the mission. The reps have never announced a strategy for Iraq or for paying down the debt or for protecting our freedoms ....

He's just echoing the musings of Bush's adviser on Iraq - Kissinger - who longs for a "win" in Vietnam that he never got

We should make every reasonable effort to keep a hold on Iraq's oil.

We need it desperately. We shouldn't let the temporary drop in gas prices distract us from the harsh reality that our civilization depends on oil, and that we have probably reached the oil peak.

Oil is life, for all of us, and we shouldn't forget it.

I don't agree with the bushco's attempt to steal the oil, but since we are there anyway, I don't think we should give it up.
