Aren't you reassured after this morning's 6.0 earthquake that Yucca Mountain, the nuclear waste crap dump is located much closer to Los Angeles so it is not at risk from earthquakes?

Yeah, i am so calmed.

I am just glad i am at least a couple of hundred miles from the Yucca Mess site, oops i meant 'mountain site'.

The quake had a preliminary magnitude of 6.3 and was reported at 6:16 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was centered in a sparsely populated area 11 miles southeast of Wells near the Nevada-Utah line.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080221/ap_on_re_us/nevada_quake;_ylt=Ap04B.aM_zQ6777jOoV24eus0NUE

nimby

btw, i wonder if Yucca would be disturbed if the super volcano at Yellowstone blows?
Of course if that happens at least 1/2 of the US is toast & probably the whole globe goes into catastrophe, so radioactive leeching into the ground water in Nevada is pretty insignificant by comparison.

I just hope that they hardened that site well. There will always be this type of stuff happening and nuclear waste needs to go some where.

I'd like to see us using far more nuclear power.
