OK, the Iranian controlled Shiites were given the Iraqi government, the ports and lots of oil. The Sunnis were left out in the cold and that's one of the main reasons why so many Saudis are killing US troops.
The US Military is paying the Sunni based "Sons of Iraq". I've read estimates of up to 80,000 of them. We've also lost 100,000+ weapons in Iraq.
Come June can't the Sunnis simply renegotiate with the US military by basically threatening to kick up violence again?
I need more accurate data on the actual amount that we're paying these guys for not fighting but in an election year it could get quite expensive.
