This film is a must see. It chronicles our policy regarding torture from Post WWII through the present. I've only seen the trailer after hearing a review on NPR. I'll be shopping for a DVD this weekend.
I can share that it is compelling and the production values are as good as it gets. Given as much bandwidth that has been devoted to our use of torture, thought maybe more than I might be interested.
Your review is due in 10 days.

I recommend you and the other anti-American kooks out there take up arms and overthrow the government. There are plenty of righteous and wholesome organizations that would be more than willing to back you... Like al qaida, the taliban, the plo, Hamas, Hezbolla, all the Ron Paul supporting Neo-Nazi and White Supremacist groups, and thats just to name a few.

Americans ARE the government,
If we choose to dissolve Washington's irresponsible tyranny it is COMPLETELY LEGAL.
Americans are America.
America choses its own government.

IT'S A KNOWN FACT: TORTURE SAVES LIVES

I've seen it Libraltarian, and I agree with you. I think it's an important documentary that people should see.
Frankg, would you please substantiate your assertion, "It's a known fact: torture saves lives"?
Because it's a fairly self-evident consensus amongst interrogation experts, such as the experts at the FBI, that torture, far from being productive, only results in the person being tortured telling his or her interrogators what they want to hear, rather than the truth.
People will say anything to stop the torture. Hence it is extremely ineffective as a means to extract factual information.
Not to mention being completely barbaric and immoral. But that's a different discussion.

Cute. Now get serious junior. For more than 200 years we stood against coerced confessions. Our Courts, for more than 200 years have tossed out and refused to hear coerced confessions.
The vast majority of interrogation experts oppose torture because as Yirmeyahu posts, the torture is not an effective tactic.
So radioguy the fact 200 years of jurisprudence says I'm right. It is you and sick sadistic freaks like you who are attempting to overthrow our government.
We're at war and different rules apply? That's the same hypocritical argument used for the failed War on Drugs and every other reason the sick sadistic freaks have asked us to sacrifice our rights and protections for security.
I can't help but notice that after you admit you're wrong about Ron Paul that you still haven't changed your signature. How long do you intend to expose your own hypocracy?
