The wife and I saw it on New Year's Eve (her pick) and it was great. Very funny while still dealing with a very serious issue.

The reason I post it here instead of "Shooting The Shit" is that it had some very strong political message in it.

1. First, my wife asked me if that's really how politics are done. While we met in DC she hasn't lived there most of her life like I have. It's true. Politics is all about favors and money. Nothing else and it's a good lesson for people to learn. The government that supported Nixon and is now in office today it probably looking at their own best interests.

2. Religion was almost the downfall of the entire region and the world's oil supply. While we look at the Jews and Muslims and think they're primitive for allowing religion to interfere with the good of everyone we don't seem to recognize it in our own country.

3. Focusing on the war was brilliant. Not focusing on the effects of war on the people was a disaster. Aren't we doing exactly that again?

4. The USA forced The USSR to spend huge amounts of money on a war. OBL stated that he would bankrupt the USA and now we're going into debt faster then ever before.

Go and watch for the comedy as it was hilarious. Julia Roberts still looks great in a bikini. Tom Hanks nailed the role as usual. I bet it will make you think a little.
