Can we not get on with the future of our country and stop whining about who
did what? We have a number of very serious issues looming down on us and
this tit for tat gets nothing accomplished. But maybe thats not the point of
this board. Maybe it is purely entertainment and I need to remember that it
is so trivial in the discussion of all things relevant.:banghead:

Come on Cat, you don't really take the nut cases on the left here as serious do you?
You know that none of the anti war people here have any idea what they are talking about don't you?
They don't have a clue what war is really like.
I would lay odds that most of the Democraps on this board range from 20-maybe 40, and most of those are still living at home.

The problem with you idea of moving on is the implied do as you want statement.
We will never unite as long as unite means conservatives get only what they want.
By the way we are moving on and as soon as a democratic president and congress are in power it will be you whinning and complaining about crocked power.
And HD stuff your arrogant statements up your ass. There are plenty of progressives that have fought and died for this nation and your statements are a slap in the face of all of them.

Well lets see there sunshine:
In Vietnam tactics used on our troops included electric shock, where they hooked up electric probes to humans and then poured water on them to keep them wet, and then they would induce electric shocks.
They also used other water tactics similar to what we call "water boarding".
We have used this tactic for many many, it is NOT something recent.
I bet you didn't know this either.
US troops actually undergo some of those things during training.
Heh, Heh, Heh, yup, I even had to go in the "gas chamber".
But that's something you wouldn't know anything about now would you.
You fucking morons don't even know what the hell Real Torture is.
How about having bamboo shoots shoved under your finger nails, or maybe even having your toe nail ripped off, now that's torture.
Water Boarding in NOT torture and it has been around for centuries.
It was used in Vietnam too, I bet you didn't know that did you.
As late as November 2005, water boarding was on the CIA's list of approved "enhanced interrogation techniques" intended for use against high-value terror suspects. In a nutshell, water boarding makes a person feel like he is drowning.
The water may or may not actually get into the person's mouth and nose; but the physical experience of being underneath a wave of water seems to be secondary to the psychological experience. The person's mind believes he is drowning, and his gag reflex kicks in as if he were choking on all that water falling on his face.
Most CIA officials say water boarding is not torture, although many see it as a poor interrogation method because it scares the prisoner so much you can't trust anything he tells you.
Water boarding is simply a "simulated Drowning"
The only thing it does is gives you the feeling that you are going to suffocate or drown.
THAT'S IT moron.

So partially drowning someone is not torture? Are you out of your mind. of course its torture. Taking someone to the edge of a painfull death is torture.
The fear is the natural response of the body when its being killed. You sir are a sick man if you dont think waterboarding is torture.
It can easily kill if taken to far.
Of course it causes pain not being able to breath is painfull.
It does all kinds of damage, its your complete lack of empathy for your fellow man that allows you to ignore it.

I mean living at home with mom and dad.
And I said MOST.
I think there are two reasons why we can't easily just move on with it.
1. We have to learn from our mistakes so that we don't make them again. That means owning up to those mistakes.
2. The other is hatred being bred in this country. Listen to Mike Savage, Bill O, Sean and even your comments below or HD's comments above. How can we as a nation unify and move forward together with this type of contempt?
Im so enjoying watching Hitlary squirm.:lmao2:

Well you know Moby, there is no reasoning with people on the other side either.
Every time you engage in conversation it always ends up ow Bush invaded Iraq because he lied so he and Cheney could get all the oil.
Or we are "right wing, neocon, war mongering death monsters.

If that isnt the pot calling the kettle black I dont know what is.
You almost never finish a thread without calling someone anti-american or some other less then original debasement.
The truth is simple, you support the people that are profitting from the deaths of others with only lies and false dreams to explain why. The war in Iraq is not about safety, and democracy and as long as you buy that it is you are supporting death bringers and war profiteers.
As long as the neocons continue trying to create a permanent police state, no, we can't get on with it.
All they have to do, is stop destroying the constitution and liberties, stop trying to militarize the country, stop creating a fascist america, and we can get on with it.
However, since the corporations control both sides, we are fucked.
And with peak oil, climate change, and economic/infrastructure failure, we are doubly, no, triply fucked.
Well you know Moby, there is no reasoning with people on the other side either.
Every time you engage in conversation it always ends up ow Bush invaded Iraq because he lied so he and Cheney could get all the oil.
Here you go making up huge lies again. THIS ONLY WORKS ON THE RADIO AND ON TV. It does NOT work when people can speak back.
Show me 10 messages where I end up saying that the Bush invaded Iraq because he lied so that he and Cheney could get all the oil.
It should be the last 10 messages that I posted since you state "Every time".
I don't know if you're blinded by hatred for things that you don't understand, brain washed by your radio programmers or just stupid. You are making up lies plain and simple.
It's this type of nonsense from people like YOU in the world that keep things from moving forward in a united manner.
Go ahead. Show me 10 out of the last 20. That would make it 50% instead of every time so I'm giving a lot of wiggle room here.
If not. STOP TELLING LIES ABOUT ME.
I however do say the iraq invasion and war was about oil, all about oil, only about oil, and never about anything but oil.
I say that each and every time, and have since the first day I started posting here.
I also say it everywhere.
I don't say the stuff about bush and cheney - they are puppets, with no free will of their own.
It's their masters that make the decisions.

What I should have said was, Every time one engages in conversation with a Democrat, it always ends up how Bush invaded Iraq because he lied so he and Cheney could get all the oil.
Mr Moby, I am sorry it came out the way it did. I really wasn't aiming at you personally.
That question of "can we just get on with it" is an interesting one, tho.
That's why I started the thread on Red Negotiable Wants.
I'm trying to figure out if there is any room for negotiation, or if a civil war is inevitable.
So far, most of the inputs seem to be pointing towards an inevitable civil war.
Which is sad, but consistent with the tone of the last 6 years.
I've been thinking we should give the reds Iraq as their police state, in exchange for stopping the police state here.
Iraq could profit by becoming the hot new vacation destination for reds.
And we get the oil, and put off disaster. Everybody wins.
Oh yeah, first thing we gotta do is...
Vote out all incumbents. Never give an incumbent a penny.
Vote out all the traitors. Vote in totally new people.

Hey Bill, I thought you said it was the Repubs that were after all the oil, but now we see it's all about YOU and your Dems getting ALL THE OIL!!!!
No, I've always said it was about america getting the oil.
The republicans are a bit more owned by the oil corporations than the dems, so the corporations used them to spearhead the operation.
The dems are more owned by the telecommunications and manufacturing and farming corporations, speaking in generalities. But the dems will benefit from the iraqi oil, all americans will.
The republicans mismanaged the invasion, the occupation, and the oil grab, thus endagering the deal for us all.
If you examine my posts, I believe you'll see this has consistently been my position. When I complain about the republicans with regards to oil, it's about how they can't even run a simple heist without munging it up.
Republicans have no equal when it comes to looting the treasury, tho. They are the acknowledged champions of corporate welfare.
Personally, my position is that all of america needs to get off the oil addiction, and switch to an electricity economy - but you can't ever get a junkie to listen to talk like that.

I believe that someone who has suffered torture first hand would be a very credible source as to whether waterboarding is torture or not. But then you can't trust a liberal like.....McCain?...
“Anyone who knows what waterboarding is could not be unsure. It is a horrible torture technique used by Pol Pot and being used on Buddhist monks as we speak.”
“People who have worn the uniform and had the experience know that this is a terrible and odious practice and should never be condoned in the U.S. We are a better nation than that.”
John McCain
Anyhow, that's a great question catslave.
Do you figure there's any chance to 'get on with it'?
What would have to happen, in your opinion?

prej·u·dice /ˈprɛdʒədɪs/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[prej-uh-dis] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation noun, verb, -diced, -dic·ing.
–noun 1. an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, thought, or reason.

3. unreasonable feelings, opinions, or attitudes, esp. of a hostile nature, regarding a racial, religious, or national group.
I'm currently a registered democrat and I will be as long as a Bush is looking to become president. Once Jeb is defeated in 2012 or 2016 I will probably register as republican again.
According to your words then every time that you engage in conversation with a democrat, which happens to be me at the moment, the same thing. Jesse and disruptor maybe but you can't say that about the rest of the crew here.
You are wrong. You make up false statements that have no basis in reality just like Mike Savage your signature hero.
Now that you've extended your entire false reality towards a group of people that make up about 1/2 of this country I think my original comments have even more standing.

I'm not prejudice. Really I'm not :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: I apologize for being prejudice.
It takes a lot more then that to offend me. I wanted to see if you could cover your tracks. You can't. You made a very prejudice remark that is totally false and has no basis in reality. You then made it even more clear that you're prejudice.
The reason we can't get on with it is the prejudice, ignorance, intolerance and hatred on both sides. Isn't that the basic cause of most terrible deeds in the history of man.
or you are not man enough to accept it.
I wonder is you're man enough to admit that you're prejudice.

If there's no discussion of who did what, no investigating ever, and no liars ever caught, well then the only people really wanting to "move-on-and-forget-about-it" are usually favouring the crooks.
Crooks after robbing their victims blind will always want the victims to move on forget about it.

I have come to the conclusion that we will never be able to "Get on with it".
Simply be nature there are people that will never be able to move on.
They are stuck in the same rut year after year and will not do anything about it, then they want to cry and blame others for their troubles.
For instance if you will go back and read this entire thread you will see an example of just that.
I had made a statement that I made the wrong way. I then expressed a ganuine apology for making the statement the way I did and posted the way I "should hve made the statement".
Instaed of accepting the apology, and "Moving on", the individual continued to insist I am something I am not.
Then the individual had the gull to state that he gave me a chance to "cover my tracks".
I have nothing to cover up.
I made a mistake, I said I was sorry for it, but we couldn't move on, we have to dewll on the fact that I made a mistake.
Well I made a mistake for which I said I was sorry, now I am going to move on because I will NOT grovel to anyone.
II had made a statement that I made the wrong way. I then expressed a ganuine apology for making the statement the way I did and posted the way I "should hve made the statement".
Instead of making that statement towards an individual, you changed your statement and aimed it at a much larger national group that still included me. All you did was make your statement, that you've still refused to support, include more people.
Mike Savage has you so well programmed that you don't even understand what prejudice is any more even though I've given you the definition. Maybe you never did.
That type of programming keeps your mind closed and focused on issues that don't exist. That way you buy their books, you allow your party to commit terrible acts but you feel good because you have an imaginary enemy.
Take your refined statement and change the word "democrat" to "black people", "Mexicans", "short people", "people in wheel chairs" and you may realize how broad and prejudice that statement is.
All I'm asking you to do is support your statement with examples. If you can't then you're prejudice. It's nothing to be ashamed about. It explains a lot about who you are.
I think that everyone has some level of prejudice it's just that yours is much stronger and controls you more then it controls others. It clouds your judgement and ability for reason.
I'm prejudice about politicians and even more so about their children. I spent most of my life inside the beltway. I knew politicians, their sons and daughters. I knew the interns that worked for them. I knew the lobbyist, the reporters and the watchdogs. By default I have a preconceived notion that all politicians are selfish bastards that have no religion, family values or spirituality in any form. Is that prejudice? Of course it is. However I'm open to be surprised by them. Joe Lieberman still won't work on the Sabbath. Hillary never left her cheating husband.
I'm prejudice but I'm still open. You're prejudice and have allowed it to close your mind. Mike would be proud of his programming.
