Interesting that now the president doesnt have to go to the states to get martial law - signed three weeks ago in a roundabout way - states no longer have rights over their own National Guard

What its all about: "The Posse Comitatus Act:

"Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both."

In other words - the president in the past could not just call up the national guard for his own use - it was restricted to states governors to provide them - the way the changes were implemented was hidden in a bill, but took away that power from the states - and gave it to the president

Oh, that just makes me think of the good old days.

When being a conservative and a republican meant you supported States Rights.

Now it means you support States having no authority, and the Federal Government having all authority.

The States have to pay for their Guards, but since the Feds have the right to order them to do anything and go anywhere the Feds decide, the States really don't control their Guard anymore.

Making the Guards a new giant Federal military - one that can be used against the american people legally.
