"That's amazing," a shocked Rachel Maddow reacted to the news that Dennis Kucinich lost his primary race on Super Tuesday. Kucinich lost his district after Ohio redrew their Congressional lines, leaving him to run in a nearby district against an incumbent Democrat.

"That means that there's not going to be a Dennis Kucinich in Congress anymore, which is almost hard to believe. He has been a singular force for his, not only for his ideological position but he's just been such a character," Maddow lamented.

"He was the dependable guy with the progressive community. He'll be missed," Al Sharpton said.

"He's a guy that you could always count on when it came to a universal healthcare conversation, or when it came to getting out of Iraq and Afghanistan and also middle-class issues and also he was good on labor," Ed Schultz said.

Kucinich wasn't just popular with the MSNBC crowd as Chris Matthews will note.

"Dennis is very popular in these circles, in media circles. We all know him," the "Hardball" host revealed.http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2012/03/07/msnbc_hosts_grieve_over_kucinich_loss_in_ohio.html

Hopefully the new guy is more to the center. I prefer a Senator not as far left as Kucinich. I prefer one who is just left of center.

It's a long term incumbent. With the redistricting in OHIO, 2 democrats ended up fighting over 1 district. One of them had to lose.

Since it is not my area, I am unfamiliar with him. Is he more to the center?

No, I just made it up. The right does it all the time, see how easy it is?

Actually, I heard it on TV, about Peter Cook in his divorce from Christie Brinkley. He had a $3000 a month porn habit.

Her. a good thing.

Kucinich was not a leftie by any stretch. He is smart person who could see what it would take to get USA workers back on the jobs.

Losing Kucinich is a blow to America. Don't know that many politicians I would stand behind in that manner. Fiscal Conservative/Socially Responsible
is Dennis Kucinich. Was not afraid to call out members of his party when they deserved that special attention. Definitely not a sheep.

Kucinich not a leftie????

He was one of the most progressive members of Congress ever.

He's going to be truly missed.

Kucinich is a practical thinker no question about. Probably among the most respected to many in the news business.

Considering the current climate, another progressive woman in Congress isn't a bad thing. and Serioulsy, Kucinich was a joke to the Right.

I can............ How about rubert murdoch???

Why I bet if we took a survey, & none of this secret ballot shit, I bet there would be an overwhelming vote of support by his employees & their families.... It would be, well, overwhelmingly overwhelming, to the point of even making putin blush..............:o

It is also sad that Olympia Snowe decided the GOP NOT was in the end more than she can stomach.

Olympia Snowe came from old school repub thinking. Susan Collins is hanging in there however I'd not be surprised that Koch/Wal-Mart money will be out to get her.

I'd like to see Kucinich make a successful Senate bid. After Kasich's disaster term in the State House is over, them Buckeyes might be evolved enough to pull it off!

That would definitely help Ohioans, bigtime. I'm being selfish here, want people like that in the US Senate so's we all can reap the rewards.
