Chavez can't legally stay in his position of power forever but the vote was very close. Putin can continue to stay in a new position of power forever.

Either way this is more turmoil for our oil based economy :(

Those specific numbers are VERY troubling.
Was this vote done on computerized machines?
There was software developed to flip the vote to a losing candidate and it would flip it to a 51% to 49% favorable outcome.

Considering all the NSA/CIA meddling in foreign nation's domestic affairs i find this particular outcome very troubling.

If it was done with old fashioned paper ballots i wouldn't have a problem with it. Probably Chavez supporters were in the count verifying valid counting.

Well, I guess the populace put Chavez in his place. Good.

Lets celebrate by closing all the Citgo stations on American soil.

Oddly, if Chavez can swing some of these changes in the next few years, the fact that he lost on this go round makes it seem more palatable winning later. More certain there was no rigging of the votes. Some one who never loses, even when they lose, such as Bush creates more suspicion.

Chavez is still in office for another 5 years i believe.

He is sort of obnoxious, but any reasonable counter to the obnoxious right is welcome.

I like the president of Bolivia better, although he is facing down right mutiny from many of his states/regions. He seems a little more deeply from the heart.

The only people who love pure capitalism are gangsters, dictators & thieves.
