Washington Post is reporting that after some quiet back door diplomacy that a followup to the MidEast conference in Annapolis will be hosted in Moscow early in 2008.
Facinating stuff diplomacy.
That's interesting. Diplomacy can work wonders and having talks in both USA and Russia eliminates some concern of people acting as puppets. I think this is smart.

Of course, doesn't that bring into play any agendas Putin may have in mind?

Olmertz was very direct with Syria regarding the Golan Heights. Moving Round 2 to Russia would mean more pressure would be put on Israel to make a peace that reaches beyond Palestine.
I agree with you Sir Moby it is smart. It seems to be more Putin's doing than Bush.

Israel is willing to give up the Golan. But only if Syria stops supporting terrorist groups - and Syria has been helping Iran arm Hezbollah to the teeth over the past year.
And part of the UN plan for having peacekeepers in Lebanon was that Hezbollah was to be totally disarmed.
