View Full Version : People have to earn thier own respect
However, since RadioGuy took a little vacation it appears that he's trying to be more civil. Sure he has a history but sometimes people can change. Getting people to illicit emotional responses is a very old debate tactic where the one that becomes emotional generally loses, unless they control the setting in a radio studio.
So while the man has told me to fuck off more times then I can count I'm going to ignore some of the past (it's not possible to ignore it all) and move forward from here.
Every one can make their own choice. I'm stating mine.

Why not make respect an entitlement? Since when should people be forced to earn things?
Also let us not forget that under no circumstances should an American ever be held accountable their actions.
My experience of radioguy is that he makes a sincere effort to observe his own behavior and make changes in his tactics. Which I respect and appreciate.
He often does better at this than the progressives and leftists.
His anger can get the better of him, which I suspect might have something to do with the more complex rules of right wing moral codes, which add the axes of "authority" and "purity" and "loyalty", to the "fairness" and "harm" moral principles of liberals and libertarians.
If he could remove his nose from the corporate butthole, he could do a lot with his skill set.
Yeah, like that'll happen. ;-}
Still, he's not as bad as some people make out. The time may come when he will activate his ability to model out probable futures, and he will free himself from his anger.
In the meantime we can learn from his example, because he does do certain things well.
Why not make respect an entitlement?
Somehow I doubt we're in danger of that.

radioguy is a dumbass, why do people let his nonsense get to them?
radioguy is a dumbass, why do people let his nonsense get to them?
Because in this context he's become an icon of the winger nation. Making his dumbness a symbol, and a threat.
It's the sense of violence hiding behind the dumbness that is unnerving.
But dumbness itself is a threat - dumbness got us into this mess, and dumbness can, and perhaps will, destroy this civilization.

I never have. I just get annoyed and then stop trying to explain things to him.
