Nov. 15 (Bloomberg) -- Investigators smuggled liquid explosives and other materials to make improvised bombs past 19 U.S. airport checkpoints in a congressional study that exposed a vulnerability of airlines to terrorist attacks.

I've flown in 5 continents and spent more time flying then driving in the 90s. I don't travel as often but I'm always shocked when they ask us to do silly things like remove our shoes, belts and water supply. I've also known that all this time a delivery van can drive right into most airports and load anything on a plane without even an ID check.
All this crap is for show and not for safety. It's all about keeping you scared and it's sad that we allow it.
This is just an example of how anyone can get bombs on an airplane and taking off our shoes won't stop it.
