Kind of a sad, yet oddly hopeful video. An interrogator, talking to his first jihadi, has a crisis of conscience. Starts a little slow - he's interrogated about a hundred people, all innocents, then is given a young captured Saudi militant.

What they talk about forces him to ask what being Christian really means, to be reassigned, then file for conscientious objector status and leave the military.

It's a bit amazing to hear a former soldier mentioning the Sermon on the Mount in the context of war.

This is a video of Joshua Casteel, who served eight years in the US Army, including seven months as an interrogator and Arabic linguist in the Iraq War. Joshua was honorably discharged as a conscientious objector

amazing, to think all this time, they are not evil. They are actual their own people with their own beliefs fighting their version of evil...I never would have thought until now...

Can't be an easy job. People probably have to be somewhat fucked up to begin with to do that kind of work.
