As many of you know I attribute most of modern music directly to the blues & as such I guess I would have to toss a bone over to early jazz as well but there are other influences & flavors that have brought this all about-what we have today.....

Definitely the blues and jazz has played a role in the shaping of the music we listen to today. Miles Davis, Charlie Patton, Son House, Muddy Waters and especially Chuck Berry.

But gospel and country music also played an integral role in the history of music as we know it today.

What about blue grass?? I really do not know much about it but I believe it has been around a long time but recently became much more popular as some country music ppl jumped on board.......

For the longest time, I thought "Squeeze my lemon, till the juice runs down my leg." was an original Led Zeppelin lyric. Then I heard Robert Johnson. WOW- mind blowing stuff that got cranked out of the American south in those days.
The brits realized this in the 60's, so they copied it, plugged it in, stirred it, bottled it and brought it right back over and sold it right back to us. :D

The south, & specifically Mississippi is the home of most modern music.... Including country & her step-child bluegrass............

Although I was not born or to young @ the time I now love listening to lots of that old stuff........... Especially lots of British blues & late 40's to mid 70's American blues............
