Little Ricky - he's so funny.

"At University Park, the Young Americans for Freedom sponsored Santorum’s appearance. He delivered a monologue — with a few audience interruptions — for 45 minutes, then yielded the floor to questions.

A fiery debate soon emerged, as students and others in the audience challenged Santorum’s interpretations, information, semantics and overall approach.

Many critics said the former legislator appeared to lump all Muslims and Islam into a single, terrorism-supporting category.

A Muslim student sarcastically thanked Santorum for coming to spread hate on campus.

In general, Santorum said, the mainstream news media and political leftists have down-played the threat posed by radical Islam. He said the religion’s basic approach to life is drastically different from Judeo- Christian culture — a point that he has said has been lost on many Americans.

While Christianity presents a humble, meek message emphasizing love, he said, Islam stemmed from the strong rule of the prophet Mohammed. “Every aspect of life was ruled.”

“Islam, unlike Christianity, is an all-encompassing ideology,” said Santorum, a Penn State alumnus. “It is not just something you do on Sunday. ... We (as Americans) don’t get that.”

He defended the term “Islamo-Fascists” — to which many attendees objected — as a simple description of a radicalized Islam, not a condemnation of all Muslims.

In fact, Santorum called on non-radical Muslims to take control of their religion, advance some modernity within it and defeat radical elements. "

Apparently he has never met some of those on the Far, far, right. Could be because they are poor examples of real Christianity but they do live eat and breath their idealogy.

"Neither MSA-West nor the Minaret of Freedom Institute mentions the Algerian sociologist Marieme Helie Lucas’s observation that the term “Islamo-Fascism” was “initially coined by Algerian people struggling for democracy, against armed fundamentalist forces decimating people in our country, then later operating in Europe, where a number of us had taken refuge.”

In other words, the term “Islamo-Fascism” originates with moderate Muslims under attack from Muslim hardliners, who murdered more than 150,000 Muslims whom they regarded as infidels in Algeria in the 1990s."

And whatever Islam is supposed to be, most countries in the middle east have mosques where they teach it's against Islam to question anything; especially in a theocracy like Iran. Hence, the hardliners.

I gather your point is that their religious fanatics are so far beyond the pale that our constitution needs to be sacrificed in order to protect us from their mighty evil?

Gird our loins for War, to protect the children from the looming muslim threat, etc etc.

While our religious fanatics are just good folk who get a little too excited sometimes. Despite trying to seize power here, and turn our country into a religious state, and wanting to see Armageddon in this lifetime, they mean well.

Apparently you feel the same in reverse, suppressing free speech about Islamic Fascism. An analogy to WWII would be, you can't talk about Nazis because it's racist against all Germans, which we know isn't true.

Interesting. Every night that I watch Fox News I hear that people are being Un-American or are Pin Heads because they're questioning our leaders.

Many on this board attack when questions Dubya or the Republicans in any way.

The claim it's a matter of national security doesn't cut it.

How does me lauging at my booted senator's latest attempt to drum up fear equal suppressing free speech?

He's free to say what he wants, I'm free to chuckle at his fear mongering.

As I've said many times here, I'm simply not afraid of muslims.

A banana republic, which is all they are, little tryant kingdoms based on oil instead of bananas, can't threaten an industrial society directly.

Comparing muslims to germans is facile and frankly not very intelligent. Not that I expect you to give up your silly obsession.

Let me help you understand the difference.

Pre WW2 Germans = the most advanced industrial society on the planet at that time.

Muslim Countries = tribalist kingdoms with one (count it - ONE!) natural resource and almost no internal industrial base.

Muslim Extremeists = Poor members of those tribalist countries with borrowed or stolen or homemade weapons, no air forces, seperated from us by thpusands of miles of sand and oceans.

But, we can destroy ourselves, which is what it looks like we are sucessfully doing, by believing that they can hurt us.

Or by getting involved in stupid land wars in asia.

You need to revise that assessment, Bill.

Muslim Countries = Mostly rich in oil money, with associated political pull; buying up weapons and technology like crazy.

Muslim Extremists = Radical groups and militias using religious ideology in their appeal; some with substantial funding and help from outside sources.
