"By giving passengers renewed access to these gels, lotions, and shampoos, we run the risk of creating a very dangerous and highly evasive super-slippery terrorist able to avoid all manners of restraint."

Airline passengers weren't afraid this time so they need to do something else. Like declare Marshall law in Baghdad. Oh no, that's right, they already did that. Maybe Marshall law in NY.

Please excuse my correction, Sir Moby, but, I can't resist the urge.

The correct expression is "Martial Law" - as in, the Law of War.

Bill - thats one of the indicators out there - as well as comments made by a security screener offhandedly to a columnist (Ill try to find the link) which basically went like this during a conversation this last week - the flyer commenting on how the rules had eased up some(when homeland sec. eased the rules about carryon liquids) and the screener commenting - "just wait till you see what happens next week"

That combined with the requirement that something to be used prior to an election needs a good 5 weeks to be effective - allows time to get over whatever associated shock and awe there is, and then time to spin it correctly and repeat the messages 19 times per the standards for advertising :)

Actually I know that, at least when I've had enough coffee.

We've recently moved our little girl out of a crib and into a bed. Now when she wakes up in the middle of night instead of going back to sleep she walks to our room and gets one of us to put her back to sleep.

This seems to be the best week for something big to happen. With all the electronic voting machines in place do they really need a big bang to sway the election? Over 25% of the votes are going to be counted by the Urosevich brothers without paper trails and most of those are in key areas. So does Rove really need to do anything?
