Hatred of U.S. drives al-Qaida recruiting
As Americans become desensitized, violence radicalizes ordinary Arabs
"The Bush administration rejects the idea that the war in Iraq has driven young Arab men into the arms of al-Qaida. But if you believe the young men themselves, the administration is wrong.
At a Baghdad jail for prisoners who have attacked U.S. forces, everyone — to a man — says it was the U.S. occupation of Iraq that drove them to violence. And they are not alone. Across the Middle East and South Asia, the same story can be heard in Internet cafes, mosques, safe houses and prisons.
“The U.S. says this war is part of the global war on terrorism,” Saedi Farhan, an Iraqi engineer who took part in an attack on U.S. forces, said in a weekend interview with NBC News. "But people here say that the war has increased fanaticism and brought terrorism to Iraq.""

Pansy iraqis, too weak-willed and stupid to know that the US boot is for kissing, not killing. They just believe the democrat lies.
Kiss the boot, and you'll get your clean water. Clean it off with your tongue, and you get electricity.
Typical NBC commies and pinko librul elites!
If it ain't on FOX, it ain't real news, it's librul poison
"Interviews with Farhan and other radicals reveal that many young men were torn when it came time to choose sides. Even though they fight alongside al-Qaida, they insist that — contrary to what U.S. officials say — they do not support al-Qaida. Many, in fact, say they hate al-Qaida.
But they hate the United States more.
Turned against the Americans
“An aggressor occupied my country, destroyed it and made millions [of] refugees. It is an honor to fight this,” said Hamid Ali, the owner of a construction company who also admitted attacking U.S. troops. "
HAH HAH HAH! You didn't fight it very freeking well, didja buddy? Now your in a US prison, you are a US soldiers bitch now.
If only Dubya would have rebuilt the country in 2004 instead of trying to convert them.

Don't you find it a bit peculiar Bill, that this article attacking America's decision to invade Iraq, comes on the heels of half a dozen stories that have been published in the last few days showing indisputable progress taking place in Iraq?
* We have learned that Basra has almost returned to normal, when just a few months ago was considered to be out of control. It has stabilized so much, that British forces are withdrawing there troops and Iraqi forces have already taken over security in the city.
* We learned that out of the 95 neighborhoods in and around Baghdad, only 4 of them are classified by the military to unstable.
* We just learned the number of violent attacks in Baghdad, are down a whopping 85% since may.
* We learned that the number of murders in Baghdad are averaging around 5 per week now, compared to an average of over 150 a week last year.
* Anbar, a section of Baghdad that was deemed lost 8 months ago, is now free of terrorist insurgence and is so safe that the markets have all reopened and children have actually returned to school.
* We just learned from a front page story in the Washington Post, that al qaida in Iraq has been severely crippled to the point that many feel it is "Irreversible"
* We also just learned, the the number of Iraqi civilians killed in and around Baghdad last month, dropped an incredible 52% from august, and 77% from September. We have also learned that so far in October, those numbers are even better than they were last month.
* The number of American's killed in action was the lowest that it's been since last summer, and down 43 percent from August and 64 percent from May.
* And every day, we are hearing that more and more Iraqi civilians who fought with al qaida and the insurgency, are now volunteering to take up arms against them and fight with us.
That article you posted contradicts the trends that are being reported by nearly every major media outlet, including liberal leaning outlets such as the Washington Post, the Associated Press and Reuters. It is in essence, trying to combat the good news that is being reported from Iraq, by implying that America's military presence is creating terrorist, rather than defeating terrorists.
When you consider the fact that this story came from MSNBC, which in the last two years has very noticeably taken a sharp turn to the left with their news coverage, as well as their opinions programs, it should at least lead you to question whether this story is a politically motivated one.

I thought this was old news.
Old news the Whitehouse psychos seem to forever ignore.
They have god talking in their ears,
helps them ignore reality.
But i am sure they are not just schizophrenic mental cases who got themselves criminally installed in the whitehouse.

Why would it be peculiar? Usually there is a mix of good news and bad news on such a complicated and complex issue. Just because Fox only reports stories that support their goal doesn't mean that everyone does.
Sucks to be iraqi.
but they're kissing the right boot now.
or they're dead.
and those old iraqi farts they interviewed in this article are lined up for a necktie.
those freekin iraqis never should have threatened bush with their wmds.
whose sorry now?
