IE tends to lock up often and uses a lot of processor.

Chrome loads as fast as IE and once you turn on Clear Type Fonts it looks as nice as IE. Also much less overhead than Fire Fox.

Google will soon own me.

I like it too. The only thing I don't like is you do not have the drop-down history in the URL bar and have to click on the wrench in the right-hand corner in order to start a new tab. Is there an easier way I'm missing?

I like it to...............

I am use to that wrench thing.........

I still open new pages when I am trying to open in a new tab as it is in the place of where the open new tab is in firefox..........

How do you turn on clear font types??

I also just installed it and have the same problem with history and tabs. I'm not able to go back and forth between tabs because it drops the first one. I thought the reason the Explorer menu bars were invisible was because I use SAFE ZONE when posting on any message board or blog.

But I'll get used to it because I absolutely positively HATE Yahoo. They never answer your question, such as my most recent one: Why are you dumping OLD emails from a secondary user name long since deleted into my current user mailbox? Then, the day before yesterday, I couldn't get on IE/Yahoo home page at all. That was the last straw. Too bad that the two oldest servers, Yahoo and AOL, have failed to keep up and now they both suck.

Yes, the tab part kinda sucks but overall it is a better, cleaner product, IMO. Surely they can make changes with the new versions. Firefox used to be the best but it seems so bogged down now. I still have all three though.

Yep, it is worse than IE w/ the continues power draw..........

I still like firefox but chrome is faster & smoother......

FireFox is the only way to go for debugging javascript but it's become a Swiss Army Knife. Not a little one with all the tools you need for 99.9% of what you do but one of those huge ones with tools that no one ever uses.

It can do almost anything but most of the time I just need a web browser, search engine and a few extensions like Chrome to Phone.

I am an IE man.

Forefox is OK. I hate having to track down add-ons to do basic IE stuff.

Chrome was just so... PLAIN.

IE8.

As far as speed, IE is as fast as the other two, at least on my systems. Doesn't use much power, either. Almost never hangs up or crashes.

Does anyone know how to get rid of that GD WELCOME TO INTERNET EXPORER 8 popup that appears every time I log onto my mail? The popup control doesn't "control" that one, and trying to get any explanation from Yahoo is an adventure into Purgatory. Unless they have a scripted answer, forget it. They just ignore you.

I just x it out, but there is absolutely no way to get rid of it from popping up again. You'd think some program stroke within the IE program would recognize that after two years, I'm no longer interested in looking at their "welcome" page.

Start to play it.... close it after it starts..... that should end the request to view it.

Try the Comodo Dragon browser. It's just like Google Chrome, but with better privacy features.

It is a clone of Google Chrome. Looks and performs almost exactly the same.

I know you just started using Chrome, so just use it for a while, then try Comodo Dragon if you want.

I love Chrome, what problem are you having?

I seem to have some problems with all the flash updates, I stopped them all together, it was happening like every other day.

But I still like Chrome over any of the other ones, I have my EQ notifier, and a few other add on's that I just love.

I will check out this Comodo though, wont hurt to try it.

I started using it as it was lean & mean, much less power use than mozilla-now it is as bad, if not worse.....

I think it is due in part to real& shockwave on & staying on, even w/ pages that do not require it, like this page...

I believe Chrome just recently eaked out the Number 2 spot from Firefox.

There is a section in Options->Under the Hood->Background Apps, that is checked by default that says "Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed"

You could try unchecking that, and see if it helps.

THnX hd, I did that-it was the same............

I uninstalled the add on's & that seems to be helping, although still not as good as it once was...........

I might upgrade my moZ & test drive it around & see how it is comparing..

Hmmmm?
Ok, well it may not have been the background apps that were the problem, but after unchecking it, did you try closing out of Chrome or restarting?

I installed that Dragon browser, I like it really but it installs a toolbar which I hate, after checking around I found another browser that is completely customizable I am going to test drive this one also.
