After Bush attacks Iran,
& the revolution starts, he will declare marshal law & have himself declared dictator for life.

Obama hasn't even bothered to establish some meat & potatoes polices.
sorry, pleasant personalities that don't have the cajones to express or don't even have opinions or ideas ain't possibly getting my vote, not until he shows substance.

Americans are too complacent for a revolution, Bush will just leisurely declare marshal law & americans will change to a different channel.

He doesn't even have to bomb Iran, except that Cheney has a hard on about it.

I think it is time to disband the USA.
It has served its purpose & now it is a worn out idea,
worn out faster by rotten, filthy corrupt people in Washington & Wall Street.

Which is why increased terrorist surveillance, less restrictions on wire-tapping, and yes , torture to acquire terrorist information are the tools we need to prevent this from happenig

I had you pegged as a torture guy Frank.

I can just see you putting the pliers to some screaming muslim lady.

Or even better, to her child in front of her. She'll name names then.

The School of the Americas has nothing to teach you, I'll betcha.

Well, that seems a little harsh, but you know him better than I do.

I was trying to make the point that it's easier to say yes to torture when you don't have to think about the actual doing.

And the ways it's done.

Our country has covertly taught and supported and probably done torture for many years - and that's where it should stay, covert, illegal.

To embrace torture is to embrace the screaming.

Yeah to be honest I actually hate all the candidates. All the dems flipped on Iraq in the past week.

They are as phony as it gets. To know the democrats positions, all you have to do is look at the polls. When they change, so do the democrats. The recent polls showed that Americans believed what Patraeus said to congress and trusted his judgment on how to handle the war, so does it really surprise you Ian, that the democrats again flip flopped? The "Pull-out" plan was never a realistic option in the first place, just as myself and everyone on the conservative side of the fence has been saying since the democrats first suggested it.

Whether you are a conservative or a liberal, you have to admit that the republican candidates have stuck to their beliefs and held steady with their platform, without any regard to what the opinion polls have said. In my book, it's a huge plus to be able to believe what a candidate says and not have to worry about them flip flopping every time the wind changes direction.

All of the candidates have flipped something or the other when it comes to their "stances" - rep and dems - its too bad we cant get someone to show up that wont do that so that we know they wont do the same thing in office

As far as I know. Ron Paul has had the same stance from the beginning.

One does have to admire Ron Paul's consistency.

I will guess Kuncinich has kept his positions mostly the same as well.

Republicans, we're against, the war, now we're for the war, I remember the repubs were talking about timeline for withdrawal not so long ago too. Sometimes I think you are a computer program created by the GOP...
