I actually liked Bill Richardson the most as a dem candidate.

But, he doesn't have much chance.

So, I figure the best money bet among the dems is John Edwards - giving money to him is the most likely to drive the debate in the direction I'd like to see the country go.

Hillary - ya know, in a way I kinda like her, but she's the most in the pocket of the corporations and bankers, she'll pretty much be a Bush Lite.

Obama seems okay, but inexperienced, and I just don't believe america will elect a black president. Too risky.

Edwards is southern, white, and male - and he's running as a antiwar anti-corporatist, which just totally seals it for me.

So, he's doing some kind of fund drive - he needs the help of those who would rather not see hillary in office - send him some money.

If you give him money right now, like today, it helps him get more public funding - your money is doubled, just like that.

I just gave him $50

Here's more from the latest Edwards letters:

---------------

Dear Bill,

These past few months, I've been traveling the campaign trail with my mom and dad—and let me tell you, you can feel the excitement out there!

When dad talks, you can see that his message of big, bold change is hitting home with voters.

You know what I'm talking about—you've been with us for a long time. And we could not have gotten to where we are today without your support.

Now, with the end of the third quarter coming up tomorrow, we need your support more than ever. We've set a goal of raising $1 million online in these last few days of the quarter.

Will you come through again, and help us meet our goal? Please contribute whatever you can afford today.

www.johnedwards.com/contribute

You contribution may not seem like much, but added to the contributions of the thousands of other people like you, who have been with us through thick and thin, a little can do a lot.

So please pitch in to support our campaign for change once more—together, we can meet our goals and keep moving down the road to victory!

www.johnedwards.com/contribute

If you're anything like me, when you look around these days, the America you see is not the America you want to pass on to your children.

We're facing big challenges: ending the war in Iraq, providing high-quality health care to all Americans, ending poverty and halting global warming. These big challenges require bold solutions—and that is exactly why we need my dad to be our next president.

My dad knows how to fight for hard-working people, and how to fight for what he believes in. He's been doing it his whole life. He and my mom taught me a lot of things as I was growing up. But when I think about this critical election, the value I remember most is this: if we want to change the world, it's up to us to do so.

My dad has lived that value. I'm proud that my dad has chosen to spend his life fighting to improve the lives of hard-working Americans. And I know it's a cause he'll never stop fighting for.

But today, he needs your support. Don't wait. Do what you can to support our campaign for change. Your contribution today will make a big difference—so please contribute what you can afford today.

Because together, we can change this country.

Sincerely,

--Cate Edwards

And a bit more...

------

It's been a great week. On Wednesday, John turned in a powerful performance at the MSNBC debate in New Hampshire. And just yesterday, John took a bold step to end the money game in Washington by declaring that he would accept public financing—and challenging his rivals to do the same.

By choosing public financing, John is rejecting the ways of Washington special interests and putting his faith in supporters like you and me. And John's announcement means that up to $250 of your donation can be matched—so every dollar you contribute today could be doubled!

I know it's a bit late to be e-mailing. But you're a part of our campaign family—and if you're up late reading this, why not take a minute to pitch in whatever you can afford today? Your help is especially important in these last two crucial days of the third quarter, and John is counting on every one of us.

www.johnedwards.com/friday-night

With your support, we'll continue down this road to victory—and towards the big, bold change we need in this country. Thanks for all you do.

All the best,

Screw it - I just gave him a $100.

The wife will be annoyed, if I tell her, because I had promised not to spend so much on politics this election.

But this may be the last money I give directly to the dems, unless Edwards really starts kicking ass in the polls and primary race.

I can't vote in the primaries, because I'm a registered Libertarian, and I ain't gonna change that, even for something as serious as the primaries.

But I can vote with my money.

Money is what counts in politics today.

If you don't give money to your candidate, you might as well just vote for the other side.

Your money is more important than your vote.

So break out the plastic, get involved, go into debt for your principles.

Your enemies will.

Why should I donate money to someone who dosen't acknowledge the war on terrorism, for all I know John Edwards doesn't even believe Al-Quada exists, not the best philosophy for defending this country

If John Edwards becomes president I'm going to need all the cash I can scrape together for my bomb shelter

I'm not a warmonger, I just want someone in the White House who can defend this country against terrorist attack , like George W Bush has for the last 6 years

If Edwards can show me some solid plans on how combat terror , I'm on board

Do you really think he would have half a chance against a Republican?

I can't match your $100 or is it $150 now? But I just went and matched your $50 from your first post.

We can't afford to have another Republican in office. They will bankrupt and wreck the country if we let them have another 4 years.

I'll forward the link to all my friends too.

And thank you also, Frank.

My apologies for being so aggressive.

Frankg is probably the guy who fired the non-explosive missile at the pentagon on 911,
or remoted the global hawk & the fireball bomb into its face.

He is a terrorist.

Murderer of 3,000 Americans on 911.

Statistically extremely unlikely.

Even allowing that your scenario in any way remotely resembles the most probable reality, which I don't.

It's not defensible, rhetorically.

Back to that collapse of american civility.

If Bill wants to thow his money away on a guy who doesn't even have a popsicle's chance in hell (sounds dramatic, doesn't it? lol) of getting his own party's nomination, because he's such an obvious hypocritical panderer, then let him.

Hey Bill, you need to send him another $300. Your $100 hasn't even paid for one of his $400 haircuts.

Remember Bill, there are two America's

The entry point & destruction cone at the pentagon is a single point, not a fuselage & 2 wide spaced several ton engines [3 entry points, or wide entry], which are designed to sheer off [continue flying/traveling independent of the fuselage]. also the fuselage is mostly hollow, the engines are denser & should rationally be at least as penetrating, less crumpling [less dispersion of inertia on the face of the building].

The fireball is spherical & doesn't slew down the face of the pentagon towards the camera, which the oblique angle [of the internal destruction cone] into the building & inertia of several hundred miles per hour would have caused.

And easiest, there is simply no jetliner in the video.

And skimming 6 to 9 feet off the ground at several hundred miles per hour in a jumbo jet even for an experienced pilot is impossible [air turbulence], let alone guys who's flight instructors said they couldn't even fly a cessna.
