Everyone is welcome to post anything that comes to mind here.
Only 2 Easy Rules:
1. It is about fun, if someone from another board comes here that you do not like, IGNORE THEM. Do not reply to them or even acknowledge their presence.
2. See Rule number 1
I would like to cordially invite Eman, Minty, Trinnity, Pat, Mike D, and anyone else that is here for the fun side of life. I highly encourage Moby, Bill , and Smurf to stop in any time as great minds are always appreciated.
Did anyone see the games today? Who can belief the 49ers are 0-3 and the Chiefs are 3-0?
Any takers on Miami vs. the Jets? I am taking the Fins in Miami.

What's going on with Tim Tebow? Is he sucking in the NFL or what?
Yes. He is sucking. Hard.
I admire Tebow's passion and beliefs. I had to throw that out there because what I say next is a little rough.
I hate Tim Tebow. With the good old irrational, disgusting hatred of a football fan, not as a person. Like I hate Tom Brady.
At FL he struck me more as a linebacker who had the QB position. I'm not too surprised he's doing poorly. The NFL swallowed him.
Of course the NFL has swallowed a lot of Bama players, as well.

Of course the NFL has swallowed a lot of Bama players, as well. That's amazing. He was such a STAR in Florida. I know three people who have named their pets Tebow. There was another star QB for FL named Danny Wuerffel a long time ago, and he tanked once he entered the NFL.

Th NFL is the real deal. College is slow motion comapred to the NFL. The best of every college competes for one spot. Higher competition and talent than high-school to college recruiting.

I've had deer meat. Don't care for it. I had to wash and clean it and still after all that, found hair in it when I went to eat it. Yuck and yuck again. No more for me....
We were out with another couple about 15 years ago in their van and her hubs hit a deer when it ran out in the road. This was at night. The wife then got out of the vehicle, to check out the damage. Front end was a wreak. They then proceeded to pull the deer off to the side of the road. It turned out to be a doe. Dead. But it was with baby. So they grabbed a huntin' knife they had in the van and SHE commenced to cutting it open and removed the baby. Just like that. She didn't think twice about it. Just did it. Baby turned out to be dead and then they had to go and report it to the dnr. Didn't hear anything else about it after that. Pretty much grossed me out.

I don't know in what style you hunt but for me it'd always be cheaper to go the grocery store to buy meat but not near as fun.We usually kill 3-4 per season. We have it ground into burger. We usually keep one aside and cut it ourselves for roasts, jerky and such. I figure is works out to about fifty cents a pound ---> license, bullets, gas to take it to the butcher, processing and all.
Oh, and we hunt on our own land, so there's no cost for hunt club fees, or paying to hunt on someone elses land.

I don't think we should kill anything for the hell of it. I shared the story that changed me forever in Bill's thread about it.

I've shot exactly 2 groundhogs in 24 years. Big deal. They were chewing up the wood storage buildings in my property. They did a lot of damage and I took care of them. They are considered varmints and are destructive animals. If they hadn't been chewing my storage sheds, I wouldn't have shot them.
Yeah, it was fun, cuz they had it comin'.
I never shot a crow. They are extremely hard to get. They love to raid my cherry trees and strawberry plants.
People also shoot foxes for eatin' their chickens. One female fox can have two litters of 20 each year.
I've lived in the city and I live in the country. The "rules" are different.
Anyone who no longer wants to be my friend over two groundhogs...that's their choice.

They would not be so upset if you said it was fun to BBQ them after you shot them.
You made groundhog BBQ strips and ENJOYED the hell out of eating them.

Okay, I ate them. Not only that, but they tried to attack me and it was really self defense.
Does everybody feel better now?
One time my husband shot a snarling, foaming at the mouth, obviously rabid possum that came in the yard. It was so nasty that after he put it on the edge of the field, NOTHING would eat the carcass, even the buzzards. It just lay there and rotted.
I guess we were "bad" for that too.

Well I just assumed that they those groundhogs were threatening your property and family.
Who wouldn't 'enjoy' taking down such a threat.
And I know you enjoyed pouring that honey BBQ sauce over their roasted flesh.
Ignore the city slickers who don't understand country living.
They probably animal processing factory farms too.
But I bet they buy meat neatly wrapped at the grocery store.

Does it really MATTER whether you got 'joy' from the kill or not?
A kill is a kill.
Does it matter if the factory farmer 'enjoys' his or her work.
It is like listing 'how' someone died.
Does it really matter?
You were humane with the shot. That is probably all that matters.

Does it really MATTER whether you got 'joy' from the kill or not?Not to the groundhogs; they never knew what hit 'em.
It only matters to some liberals who don't live here, and didn't have their property damaged.
Does it matter if the factory farmer 'enjoys' his or her work. What matters is a paycheck. In my book, humans come before animals.
You were humane with the shot. That is probably all that matters.I'm always humane. I passed up several shots before I took one. One of them took me a week to get. The other, several days. But they kept coming back..........

The liberal is one strange animal.
They are okay in the city.
But they struggle in the wild.

They probably think you took joy from shooting a distant cousin.

The liberal is one strange animal.
They are okay in the city.
But they struggle in the wild. They'd die quickly in the wild. They wouldn't even know how to start a fire, w/o matches.
They also make the mistake of assuming that everyone lives in the same circumstances as them and thinks (or should) the same way. Many of them tend to think theoretically, instead of practically. No wonder they get the label "elitist".
But liberals believe the animals are ancestors. Some animals do evolve to some extent while others remain virtually unchanged over millions of years. IMO, the physics of the universe are God's tools and he put everything on "automatic" a long time ago.
They probably think you took joy from shooting a distant cousin.I hope not; that's wack.

Their idea of 'roughing it' is taking the subway instead of the car.

Mercy. The environmental movement is kind of my habitat and they are more racist [the overused word] and segregated than the Tea Party could ever be.
Yet they are labelled 'liberal.'

Got Eric Clapton's new CD yesterday. Mostly mellow, with a New Orleans flavor here and there. Muddy Waters-ish.
Clapton smokes in concert--saw him back in February--but it the studio he likes to chill as he gets older. I wish he'd put out some more blazing guitar work CD's, but average Clapton is still better than most of the shit out there today.
The CD came with a cool t-shirt that, thanks to seven weeks of strict dieting, actuallt fits me.

Should have been dead at least 30 years ago.

I saw him in 1977 with Muddy Waters, in that small theater across from VCU, in Richmond. Can't remember the name of the place.

Liberals worship themselves.I try not to generalize (we all do sometimes), but many certainly do. Liberal intolerance comes from their condescending, know-it-all, self delusion.
