Remember when the left was so exited to present Jesse Macbeth, the guy who proved that American soldiers were the real terrorists? They couldn't contain their utter excitement to wave this guys testimony around and call American troops "Animals" and "Thugs". Much the same as they were when Scott douche-bag told stories of troops laughing at a disfigured woman, and running down dogs in Iraq for sport.

Well, it seems that the left's excitement has turned out to be another case of liberal lies. But don't worry lefty's, I'm sure another phony story that makes the United States look bad will come along any time now, and you can all once again rejoice and yell "I told you so" until we expose it as another lie.

Brian Ross and Vic Walter Report:

A Washington man, whose claims to have slaughtered civilians as a U.S. Army Ranger in Iraq were seen by millions on YouTube, admitted in federal court in Seattle today that he was a fake and a liar.

Jesse Adam Macbeth, 23, pleaded guilty to charges he faked his war record.

"He was in the Army for 40 days before he was kicked out of boot camp for being unfit," said U.S. Attorney Jeffrey C. Sullivan. "He was never in Iraq."

Macbeth's story of killing men and women as they left a Baghdad mosque included claims that he was a U.S. Army Ranger and had received the Purple Heart for injuries suffered in combat in Iraq.

His interview was translated into Arabic and distributed in the Middle East, said the U.S. attorney.

"Macbeth's lies fueled hostility to our servicemen in Iraq and here at home," Sullivan said.

Federal prosecutors and investigators with the Office of the Inspector General for the Department of Veterans Affairs say they are in the midst of a crackdown on phony heroes.

"The phony war hero phenomenon plagues the American landscape and tarnishes the service of thousands of veterans who have served honorable," said Douglas Carver, special agent in charge of the VA's inspector general operation in the west.

In another recent case, investigators uncovered a man who posed as a U.S. Marine Chaplain, officiating at the weddings and funerals of Marines.

Reggie Lee Buddle, 59, of Puyallup, Wash., was sentenced to two years of probation in July after pleading guilty to charges he wore a Marine Captain's uniform and insignia.

Buddle, who never served in the Marines, participated in an opening ceremony of the Washington state Senate last year, delivering the opening prayer.

Macbeth, the phony U.S. soldier who claimed to have committed atrocities, was sentenced to five months in jail.

He told the judge today he wanted to apologize to "the real American heroes."

He said he lied about his military record in order to get money and treatment from the VA hospital.

Scott who?

What? You never heard of TNR's Scott Thomas the "Baghdad Diarist"?

His real name is Scott Thomas Beauchamp, and he wrote a hand full of stories about how evil the troops over in Iraq were. Only problem is, he lied about it all. He was just another liberal who was full of shit, and the left bloggers ate his shit up by the bushel. In fact, in typical liberal fashion, TNR still won't address the issue. No retraction, no apology, nada!

I would be glad to relive the embarrassment of the anti-war left again if you would like? If not, just goggle the guy and you will see what a piece of crap he was, and how so many on the left rallied behind him.

I believe the last on that was that he still stands by his stories and TNR has verified his stories with other military members in his unit - the Army has cut off all communication to him and wont allow him near a computer or phone - and some of the wingnut blogs are saying he has recanted his stories but TNR has posted as of 2 months ago that he has sworn that he did not recant anything - and the Wash Post did verify that in Aug

BTW heres the link:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/08/07/AR2007080701922.html and it definitely quotes the Army as saying that they have no knowledge of him recanting his stories

I think I might have heard the soldiers running over dogs and playing with kids skulls stories, but I hadn't connected them to a name.

So your version, radioguy, is that the troops are all clean cut, gentlemenly guys who would never run over a dog?

Well, I really don't care either way. Iraq can't get any worse of a place.

The stories vets used to tell me, and I used to read, aboout vietnam sounded pretty bad. But they were probably all lies too.

For someone who claims to not favor one side or another, you sure are mis-informed.

Let me take each of your statements one at a time.

I believe the last on that was that he still stands by his stories

FALSE. He has signed not one, but two sworn statements recanting everything he said in that TNR article.

TNR has verified his stories with other military members in his unit

BULLSHIT. That is what they claim, but an investigation by the military, could not find one person that could verify even one of his claims.

the Army has cut off all communication to him and wont allow him near a computer or phone

FALSE. The Army did take his computer away, but he has ALWAYS had access to the telephone. In fact, it has been confirmed that Beauchamp himself has received several calls to his post from TNR and he himself has refused to take any of them.

and some of the wingnut blogs are saying he has recanted his stories

TRUE Right wing blogs have reported such, and have been 100% accurate according to interviews with the military officer in charge of the investigation.

but TNR has posted as of 2 months ago that he has sworn that he did not recant anything

TRUE That is what TNR is reporting, and that is what that asshole said, but that is FALSE and TNR knows it.

and the Wash Post did verify that in Aug

Verify what? That Beauchamp said he didn't recant? Let me enlighten you since you don't seem to get your news from anything else than left blogs. Go to this link (http://michellemalkin.com/2007/09/10/breaking-the-scott-thomas-beauchamp-stalemate/) and click on the many stories, along the video interview, to get to the truth of this matter. You may not like the fact that this is a right wing blog site, but their links and their evidence are as real as it gets.

Not at all... What I'm saying is this particular bunch of stories are nothing but liberal lies meant to slander the United States and it's military. Instead of siding with America, or at least giving America the benefit of the doubt, the liberal left jumped on this guys bullshit and paraded it around as fact. Thats all.

So Im supposed to go to some crazy loons site to get an accurate story - I think Ill stick with the Washington Post in August - Malkin is about as crazy as you can get and using her as a reference proves exactly what your intent was here - if you are really interested in looking at both sides like I did - go to the Wash Post link

I love it!!

Attack where the facts come from, so you can avoid dealing with the facts themselves.

Typical.

Right... Let's not attack the "facts" just because they're really lies. Ha..ha..ha.
