Made Permanent.
According to BBC News sources, Russia And China have been spying on U.S. facilities at levels comparible to the Cold War. According to U.S. intelligence, both were collecting information on the U.S. Head of National Intelligence MIchael McConnell states that the United States is battling not just terrorists, but state foes, too, and he defends new legislation allowing the United States government to eavesdrop on international phone calls and email without a warrant.
"Foreign intelligence information concerning the plans, activities and intentions of foreign powers and their agents is critical to protect the nation and preserve our security," Mr McConnell told the House Judiciary Committee.
Wire tapping without a warrant has been a fairly hot issue since the U.S. congress passed new anti-terror laws in August. The Protect America Act allows the goverment to eavesdrop on foreign communications, even if the recipient is a person living in the U.S. The U.S. government wants these powers to be made permanent, and they are scheduled to expire in January, 2008.
This is a flagrant violation to our right to privacy as American citizens. The sorry ass government is using the same ol' lame excuse that they are doing this because of terrorism, and need to protect the American people, and blah, blah, blah-bullshit! If this was the case, then how come an overwhelming percentage of American ports are owned and opperated by Arab, and Asian corporate firms? How come our southern border is wide the fuck open, and many Arabs, and Asians have come across those borders along with Mexican illegals, while our apathetic government has been making only a feeble attempt at trying to build a fucking wall down there, or anything else concerning protection for that matter. The U.S. government has built several underground bunkers around Washington, D.C., Colorado, and various other places around the U.S. for themselves, while only making a minor effort to protect the majority of American citizens, and leaving us all wide the fuck open for any potential bombing attack, etc.
Come on, we all know that this Protect America Act is really just another cover front for our government to spy on us-not terrorists, Russia or China-but us. They don't trust us, because they have fucked us over so much that they can't. They sent our soldiers over to Iraq to die for their greedy corporations, while lying about weapons of mass destruction and implementing democracy in Iraq. Our sorry assed government then raised gasoline prices so high, that the American people had to pile up in car pools to go to work like sardines, while Washington politicians flew around in state of the art private planes with gas paid for by us tax payers. And, our government spends billions of dollars per month in Iraq-yet forclosures on houses in America are at an all time high, due to job losses by Americans to overseas cheap labor, and crooked ass banks and realtors. And, our good ol' government won't even try to bail the people out who have lost their homes-but they can spend billions of dollars in war zones in Iraq, trying to build their corporations over there, only to see them bombed down a few days or weeks later. Yes, our government can waste our tax payer money over in Iraq on their own self serving interests-but they can't bail out the victims of hurricane Katrina.
No, our government doesn't trust us, because they know they have fucked us over royally, therefore they are paranoid. So, if you are talking on the telephone to your doctor about what type of hemoroid cream you should use on your asshole, and hear third party static and heavy breathing-don't be alarmed, it's just big brother government with their fucking probe all up in your business.:disbelief:,
So, should the Protect America Act be made permanent so our good ol' government can erode our right to privacy even further? What do you think?
