View Full Version : It's interesting that nobody here seems to have mentioned the weekend protest
I tend to agree with Scott Ritter - mass protests have been made irrelevant by the corporate media.
But I hope them folks had a good time in DC.

they are only irrelevant when they get ignored.
Weekends get less coverage, so perhaps weekdays would be better,
but i am glad these people are stepping up & protesting,
showing that the corporate criminal hegemony has some kind of vocalizing opposition.
Most these people work so weekends are the best days to get the most people.
kudos to vocal, genuine Americans.

The way I see it, the reason those of us on the right didn't mention it, was because we were out numbered so badly, it was embarrassing. The reason the left didn't mention it, was because the entire spectacle was a mass embarrassment to them, because of the kooks and low life's that showed up to represent them, not to mention the despicable behavior by many.
That's probably why.

I am sure the British said similar things about the founding father's rag-tag, ill equipped, revolutionary PATRIOTS.
They fought when it wasn't pretty, and wasn't approved of by the socially well-connected establishment.
Voodoo in a 3-piece suit is still voodoo.
NeoConmen: gangsters, sycophants & parasites on America.
Robbing your children & the unborn of the economic prosperity with deficit spending, all so they can loot the treasury under the guise of 'war', while you are numbed to it.
No draft, No new taxes, oh but what a bill they are charging up to your & your children's future. And hell will be coming back for payment due.

Since you are taunting why do you pick little individual incidents - instead of showing the overall 95% of the demonstration that was very effective - on both sides - although I would agree that the Right did not really plan this very well and the Left didnt publicize it very well
Demonstrations are hard to plan - and require a much heavier discontent level these days - when we were doing the moratoriums and may day in DC we had lot of support due to the draft and the release of the papers proving the lies of the president at the time - which BTW - is what Im waiting for any time now - some civil servant is going to release the emails and paperwork behind some background interactions - and with the French leaders declaring today that war in Iran is imminent - I would expect a draft anytime as well

That's how these right wingers operate. Just pick out one or two incidents to prove their points.
It goes back to the whole weapons of mass destruction mindset. Here is a condensed version of how the story goes.
Once upon a time, long, long ago in the land of Iraq there was a ruler, supported by the CIA who once had weapons that could result in massive destruction. These weapons had been destroyed many years ago.
Bush, a self appointed ruler in the CIA country wanted the oil resources of the Iraqians for his own country as well as to make a place for himself in history.
Now, it so happened little children that Bush's country was attacked by some bad men from Suadi Arabia, Lebanon. Egypt and the United Arab Emirates belonging to the terrorist group Al Qaeda led by Osama bin Laden and many, many people were killed in the country led by Bush.
And Bush swore he would fight these terrorists and sent troops to Afghanistan to find this Osama Bin Laden and bring him to justice. But somehow, that focus changed and the focus became Iraq and it's leader who also had no love for Al Qaeda and kept them out of his country. But Bush and his partners in crime became obsessed with Iraq and declared war on that country, saying that the leader there had weapons of mass destruction and was preparing to attack the country of Bush. This story was spread far and wide and the people whom Bush ruled, still fearful of being attacked by terrorists believed the story. So, Bush sent many, many soldiers to Iraq and eventually overturned and executed the ruler there.
For this cause, though no weapons were found that could do any damage at all, NOR was there any proof that this ruler, though he was not a nice ruler, was plotting against the country of Bush, Almost 3,800 soldiers were sacrificed, thousands and thousands of civilians sacrificed, thousands of soldiers forever maimed and country despoiled, in turmoil and chaos, Bush and his followers continue to beat the drums of war.
The moral of the story children is:
Beware of men in sheeps clothing, for when the opportunity presents itself, they openly become the evil, rabid wolves they claim their enemies are. And they are no better than those radicals who would put you in chains and take away your freedom.
The end...
