View Full Version : Renters also getting SCREWED by mortgage crisis
Dang - I'm glad I own my house free and clear.
"The Center for Housing Policy reports that the number of working-family renters paying more than half their income for housing has soared from 1 million to 2.1 million since 1997. Overall, advocacy groups say there are 9 million low-income renter households and only 6.2 million units they can reasonably afford.
"These people spend huge portions of their income on their housing," said Sheila Crowley, president of the National Low Income Housing Coalition. "They don't do things that we all would like to do — save money to buy a house, or for college or retirement. It's a very day-to-day existence."

Yup, poor fiscal planning by the Clinton Administration, compounded by the Bush (43) Administration has caused an housing market boom that could not support demand once people saw that prices were too high.
This resulted in a massive increase in subprime lending (ie loans that you only paid interest on, or ARMs are considered subprime, not just poor market risks) and now banks are having to pay.
End result? Houses are starting to move back to where they should have been for the past 15 years and rent is increasing to compensate landlords for taking out bad loans for themselves.
It's called the open market. You don't like it, you can always move to Communist China. There you can be issued a home, job and rations to live on! Meanwhile, the rest of us will live with ups and downs so that the smart ones can amass enough wealth to have a retirement and educate our children .
Thanks.

Wow jennifer why dont you just build an effigy of Clinton and burn it since he is your antichrist.
Me I think we did much better under President Clinton then any republican since Eisenhower. He almost balanced the budget to bad Bush had to give it all to his cronnies.

Bill Clinton was involved in over 500 scandals, Hillary Clinton more then 300. Perhaps it isn't the villification of the guy, but the unveilling of a pair of villans?

Come on jennifer if your going to lie why dont you just make the number interesting say Bill Clinton had 2 billion scandels since its all just a bunch of lies anyways.
Your repuglicans spent 50 million dollars investigating Clinton and all they could get him on was a blow job. While your group of rabid dogs harrassed him he had a popularity rating over 64%. Bush on the other hand has averaged around 30%. Seems to me you are just crying sour grapes becuase the ones you keep supporting keep getting caught with thier hands in the wrong places or are just seen as the retards they are.
