Amazing - Edwards finally spoke out - and called out congress:

This week – as we will forever - we remember those lost on September 11th. And this week, Washington refocuses on Iraq. But the question of Iraq is separate from September 11th – as it has always been, whatever George Bush would have us believe.

Likewise, supporting our troops and pursuing a failed war are not the same things – whatever George Bush would have us believe.

All Americans honor the incredible sacrifice of our troops. They’ve done everything asked of them with courage and resolve. Now we should bring them home.

They are policing a civil war, and the only way to end that civil war is for both sides, Sunni and Shia, to take responsibility to end it by agreeing to a political solution. And the only way to force them to take responsibility is to withdraw our troops – starting now.

Unfortunately, the president is pressing on with the only strategy he’s ever had – more time, more troops, and more war.

In January, after years of evidence that military actions cannot force a political solution, the president announced a military surge to force a political solution. In May, he vetoed a plan to end the war, demanded more time to show the surge could work, and Congress gave it to him. Now, after General Petraeus reports the surge has produced no progress toward a political solution, what does the president want? More time for the surge to work, when all of us know it won't.

Our troops are stuck between a president without a plan to succeed and a Congress without the courage to bring them home.

But Congress must answer to the American people. Tell Congress you know the truth – they have the power to end this war and you expect them to use it. When the president asks for more money and more time, Congress needs to tell him he only gets one choice: a firm timeline for withdrawal.
No timeline, no funding. No excuses.
It is time to end this war.

Congress doesn't have the courage to order lunch. They're all a bunch of whiney little sycophants who would rather have gay sex in the bathroom then do the jobs they were voted in to do.

Ever wonder why this congress has the LOWEST approval ratings in the History of the United States of America? Even Bush doesn't have that honor!

2008 is going to be an eye opener for the demon-rat party. They're involved in over 500 scandals currently, and more will be unveiled as time goes on, I'm sure. I just hope Fred Thompson, Mitt Romney, and the rest keep the testicular fortitude to ram the truth right up the demon-rat's butts on public television. The people need to know the truth about these people! Since the liberal media won't do it, the pundits will have too!

None of the politicians - congress, candidates or president has any balls - why think that any of them are going to really get them - the only one so far that has officially called any of them out is Edwards - we'll see if he keeps that going - I dont expect Thompson to last long - too many closet problems - and Romney will eat himself out of the race - he's already making too many stupid comments

Thompson has my vote because his ex-wives want him to be President. That takes a helluva man to get that kind of endorsement!

And Congress doesn't have the balls to do what the people elected them to do: Surrender in Iraq and get our troops home NOW!

I keep hearing this surrender BS - you cant surrender when youre not in a war - there is no such thing - you can give up - which is what they need to do so that we dont lose more soldiers - especially when the Shieks in Anbar are writing thier own editorials in the papers in Iraq saying that Bush is lying about the Anbar province

I loath "people" like this. This is the kind of "mentality" that resulted in 58,000 kids coming back in rubber bags from Viet-Nam for nothing...and it will be the same old story when the history of Iraq-Nam is finally written....only worse.

If it were left up to these blood thirsty, war loving morons, we'd still be bleeding and dying in a stand off in the rice patties of South East Asia while beer swilling clueless lemmings swallow more lies about communism and the "domino theory' being force fed to them by the scumbags on Fox News.

Ironically, none of the authors and peddlers of the lies that led us into Iraq-Nam were anywhere to be found when it was their time to serve in Viet Nam.

I have a better idea. Let's round up all these Republican assholes and send them off to Iraq. And let the ones who want to come home get the hell out.
