There - I said it - and to prove it:
Now the government wants to waste my tax dollars to "help" the damned state of Tennessee because they got some water on their state. Obama had to declare a "state of emergency" which means all my hard earned money that I had to pay in taxes now go to help someone else since they can't take care of their own problems
When will this stupidity stop? Im sick and tired of bailing out these states because they dont take the tax dollars they get from their citizens and spend it fixing their own problems - instead, they go whining to the US government that they cant handle it
Same as these idiots calling for the US government to send the National Guard to help Arizona with the border patrol or sending them as well as the Coast Guard to fix some huge oil companies mistakes in the Gulf

Its about time this government stopped their socialist takeover of all of the states duties and maybe our taxes would go down a little more than they have so that I can keep more of the money Im making - I work hard for it and am entitled to it - not to just get sent off to help some other state I dont even live in

Lower taxes and small government would keep huge state disasters from occurring and even if they didn't it wouldn't matter because its their fault for not being better prepared with lots boats.

I agree stop giving California tax money to southern and midwestern welfare states. If you can't afford your roads then do without. If you can't afford to deal with natural disasters then thats your fault for not planning better.

I think all the oil in the gulf should be pushed to all red southern states that helped vote in cheney and bush who allowed the almost total disassembly of safety procedures when it comes to off shore drilling.

As should all domestic aid be cut off as well - why should I have to support someone elses problems?

Lets start with school taxes - why should I have to pay that when I dont go to school, dont have any kids in school and certainly dont support the socialist structure of requiring children to attend school and then the marxist ideals of providing a government subsidized system.

Second - lets cut out the subsidies to the farmers - the government sticks their noses in the agriculture business way too much and having these commune-type farms supported by the government can only lead to socialism like it did in the USSR

Third - Stop taking medicare out of paychecks, drop the medicare program completely (it was some democrats wet dream anyway of helping to try to cure all of societys' ills) and let the health care companies prosper - that way citizens have the right to choose whatever providor they want and they dont have to follow the government imposed rules on prescriptions, care etc. This alone would drop the deficit immediately and cut out so much red tape in DC we could fire thousands of workers immediately.

Fourth - get rid of "private contractors" for the military - if we dont have enough people to serve - re-institute the draft. Why pay my tax dollars to some company that is paying private people 4 times what the US military pays its men and women that volunteer - for that matter, we could institute a program where only those that are unemployed or collecting any federal aid should be required to provide at least 2 years of service in the military


I think its time we really support the tea party - go back to its original protests and slogans - I think we've lost some of the momentum with all the distractions from the other side so lets start over with the initial tea party and "Tea Bag the White House" and "Tea-bag the liberal Dems before they tea-bag you" - get together as many tea bags as you have and lets send them to the oval office!!!

Ive got lots more ideas for fixing this country but I will keep them for a separate thread - or maybe we can just move this to its own

I dont actually agree thaat the military is the US governments responsibility as that is not what was put in writing during the constitutional congress - and unless we are willing to throw away the constitution, the military needs to eventually go away completely or back to the states where it was intended

The Constitution mentions the military acting to protect each state against invasion and domestic violence. The military invading other countries is not at all in any way mentioned.

What you state is something that many will agree with but it's not something our founding fathers mentioned. Such a belief is a personal one and I'm not disagreeing.

Many people will also claim that we need health care to protect our citizens or various other things even though that was never mentioned in The Constitution. It's a personal belief that may or may not be true just as your belief.

It goes both ways.

I happen to disagree with our tax dollars going to corporations in this manner, but talk to me when the amount of money spent on corporate subsides, tax breaks and monetary awards gets any where near entitlement spending.

Wouldn't that force Americans to pay for our debt and higher prices at Walmart?

Yes - but at least two generations from now, we could probably be back to our grandchildren not having any government debt - we would just have to cut out all public programs from the government (and I mean all), take all the funds out of social security and medicare programs, and defund all nasa, military, transit, highway, etc etc bills immediately.
As far as Walmart - they would probably cease to exist with small government as they get too much of their cheaper products made for them in China - not that it matters, as any Super Walmart would have to shut down anyway - the removal of all the farmer subsidies would pretty much empty the shelves of any food at Walmart
