A report released this week from the Citizens for Tax Justice shows that if House Republicans had their way, American families would receive $1,158 less in tax cuts. The major tax cuts enacted under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which every single House Republican voted against, reduced federal income taxes for tax year 2009 for 98 percent of all working people.

Citizens for Tax Justice:

The stimulus bill included several tax cutting measures for individuals in tax year 2009:
The “Making Work Pay” tax credit gave most working people a $400 refundable tax credit. This credit is worth $800 to most working married couples. More than 94 percent of all working families and individuals received this tax cut.
Changes to the $1,000 per-child tax credit and the earned-income tax credit gave an average of $872 each to 12 million, mostly low-income working families with children.
Relief from the Alternative Minimum Tax for 2009 reduced taxes for 25 million mostly upper-income couples and individuals.
A new, partially refundable education credit was also enacted for 2009.

First off: how about using the preview button and review your post before you click submit. You have to think before you post. We're not playing games here when we're talking about millions of American lives.

Secondly I'm suuuure you would have changed it if nobody pointed it out.

Third its ok for you to dismiss Rasmussen but not something that says Communist News or the Stalin Times? Are you diliberately trying to rile us up by doing this and trying to instigate a verbal quarrel NOT about the subject at hand but the source? Or are you really that blind that you think any opposing viewpoint is going to take all this garbage you post all the time at face value? Especially when you criticize our legitimate sources you go ahead and post your EXTREME Leftist sources and think its fine. Its unbelievable to me. I mean c'mon I want one other lib in here to do me ONE FUCKING FAVOR and at least convey what I'm speaking here to the OP.

Citizens for Tax Justice is a liberal organization founded in 1979 with the mission of giving ordinary people a greater voice in the development of tax laws in the US. They advocate for fair taxes for middle and low-income families, requiring the wealthy to pay their fair share, closing corporate tax loopholes, adequately funding important government services, reducing the federal debt, and taxation that minimizes distortion of economic markets. For instance, in their 2004 report Corporate Income Taxes in the Bush Years, they claimed that many corporations pay zero taxes because of loopholes and lobbying.

Bullshit, just because you refuse to read, don't blame me. There is no discussion with you and those like you. You are so brainwashed by the Pelosis and Waxmans of the world you can't see past it. You live in a state where real estate prices were more inflated out of proportion that anywhere. For Christ sake you have ports which should guarantee you the lowest raw material cost of anyone in country and yet your state is faltering.

Believe it or not there are people here in the USA that think everyone should be accountable for the long term and short term choices and regardless of whatever charity or handout you throw the loafers the model will remain the same.

I am more than willing to listen or even read your opinion when they is not an insult or slur in it but I won't hold my breath.

I have a problem with taking what a liberal organization has to say about republicans and taxes, as gospel truth.

The last I checked, the wealthy were also Citizens of this country. Shouldn’t they be treated fairly also? I do want the poor and the middle class to be treated fairly when it comes to taxes, but shouldn’t we extend that to ALL Americans? The problem with groups like this is they advocate that THEY should determine what is fair for all other people. Seems to me that with 47% of the population not paying federal income taxes while the top 10% pays 90% of all taxes, those people in the lower tax brackets don’t have a lot to complain about. Sounds more like this group should be advocating for those bearing a disproportionate tax burden than those at the receiving end of those funds.
