A Democratic state senator on Tuesday handily won the first U.S. House race since Congress passed a massive health care overhaul, beating a decidedly underdog Republican who tried to use the backlash against the measure to pull the upset.

that's mostly Boca Raton

District Breakdown:
25% of voters are jewish.
Largest concentration in the nation.

55% of voters are Dems.
25% Repub
25% Indies.

South Florida is virtualy all Dem.

Panhandle/north is mostly Repub ( lots of retired military)

I live on the I-4 corrider ( central)( Orlando) - the swing part of the state.

tried to use the backlash against the measure to pull the upset.

Still didn't work. Didn't even make a dent. The Republicans argued that this bill would work against Democrats in traditionally Democratic districts.

Miami Dade is the equivalent of San Francisco. Why else do you think Broward was one of the only counties Gore wanted recounted? It went 65% for Obama.

Get the entire state in the mix and you'll see a whole different outcome.

Rubio, the conservative, is trouncing Crist, a RINO, by 58% to 27% statewide.

Well then, if I were you, I would trash the Tea Party protesters more, and call for the democrats in congress to pull out all the stops, and go whole hog toward socialism. I mean it's clear that the American people are behind you, as this election proved.

I'd push for Amnesty for all and get that wonderful Cap & Trade bill pushed through and signed into law... And do it all before November, so you can secure even larger majorities in the house and senate.

GO BABY GO!

The Democrat did not run as pro Obamacare or pro Obama.

A Democrat wins a blue district. Wow. What a headline.

Come on man, it's time to push that progressive agenda of yours through. You all are riding a wave of support, as this election proves, so go for it!

The American people will show you the love come November, so strike while the iron is hot!

Backpeddle all you want. You've been shaking your pom pom's every day on these boards.

So, I guess you'll agree that Pelosi's safe?

So, I guess you'll agree that Pelosi's safe? There is no "backpedaling". I live in Florida. Winning Miami is like a dem winning San Fran. Had the entire state voted, we would see a different outcome.

Pelosi will lose her speaker position if the house is lost. Frisco doesn't decide she is speaker of the house, the balance of power does. Didn't you know that?

40% of the voters in that district are senior citzens.

What happened? They aren't afraid of 'death panels', or 'rationing' of care?

I was told there'd be a bloodbath.

I was told there'd be a bloodbath. In Broward County, seniors are 14% of the population.

Who told you there'd be a bloodbath in a small S. Florida election? I'd no more say that than I'd say a republican would win San Francisco.

That said, I really think you need to take Commoncents' wise advice above. :lmao2:

Lynch, a 44-year-old West Palm Beach contractor, sought to make the race a statement on the health care bill in District 19, which includes parts of Broward and Palm Beach counties. About 40 percent of voters are senior citizens. But Lynch had a tough task. Democrats outnumber Republicans by more than 2-to-1 — 234,000 to about 111,000.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100414/ap_on_el_ho/us_congress_wexler_s_seat Seriously, I think you need to keep doing what you're doing because this proves the American people support Obama's socialist agenda. You need to push thru cap and trade, amnesty and the rest -- all before November. And by all means, keep demonizing the "teabaggers" because that has worked soooo well for you so far. :lmao2:

Oh...so you only predict bloodbaths in the red states? I'm trying to keep up. First, Florida is a swing state and second, Broward county is not representative of Florida.

The dems are still in shock from losing Ted Kennedy's throne..., er ah,..seat to a republican. It's just a bad dream and everything will be okay if the rest of America just goes back to sleep.

In theory they should be right. The bill was pro big business and has individual mandates, which isn't exactly in line with liberal thinking. Just goes to show it's more about party and politics than what people actually beleive.

A Senator who votes more with Democrats than with Republicans. You do realize that Scott Brown's election is the reason we got reform passed, don't you? That election finally convinced the Democrats that they had to go for majority vote instead of the filubuster proof 60. Had Brown lost we still would be fighting for that 60th vote.
