I remember hearing about the three dead guys, one a bigwig republican, and an apparent murder suicide in a house...

Then the whole Harlow Cuadra angle - that is just crazy.

Maybe Drake was just sent there to execute Abrami & Gonzales [the lovers] & then clean up the details by offing himself?

Not so much a lover's triangle, but a Republican mafia execution of a gay couple.

It sounds like Drake is the one associated with US Representative McHenry.

Maybe Abrami &/or Gonzales had the goods on McHenry & he sent a marine hit man to terminate any potential leak.

A more rational type explanation, presuming altruism to be rare,
would be that there was perhaps a 4th person at this execution.

Drake shot the two lovers & then the 4th person was used to kill Drake & make it look like suicide.
Disguising the real thread of motives & perpetrators.
I wonder if the police actively looked for traces of a 4th participant would they be likely to find deterministic evidence? Scouring to make sure the suicide was genuine & not staged.

It is possible that Drake was such a selfless person to some ideology or mission that he offed himself to help obscure the connections to the principals but that sounds lower in probability than he was just used to execute & didn't know he was, himself going to be killed, by some 4th person.

It would be not unusual in a country where P Merrill commits suicide, K Lay dies all of a sudden, and many others that are all people that had ties to knowledge of higher ups corruption - Lay was fed to the public as responsible for something that the government created - not him, and then they killed him when he was getting ready to testify...Merrill was getting ready to publish an expose of that same corruption and many others that have been "suicided" from the chesapeake bay to the mississippi river (many scientists knowledgeble of the anthrax attacks and the makeup of the anthrax used have gone missing and later found floating in the river)

So no its not a stretch to expect that there was a 4th person - but it will never be exposed

How about Ray Lemme, an FDOT auditor that was going to expose the laundering of money through Florida toll booth cash receipts running off to Georgia where he committed 'suicide' in some motel & had strange bruises on his wrists & neck like he was bound or something?

Or that guy who Abramoff bought Sun Cruises [unregulated, offshore florida gambling casinos] from getting executed, mafia style in his car. Abramoff bought them with bogus assets by the way, worthless paper trumped up to look like collateral. Hmmm, but Abramoff had 'nothing' to do with that?
Him or his completely secret, unnamed, partner in the venture?

How does the IRS collect taxes from unregulated, unaudited gambling?
Because it is technically 'out of us territory' does it go completely untaxed?
How do they collect income tax from someone who is completely anonymous in the deal?
