It back fires. Instead of protesting why didnt they just say "Thats lovely but we dont like the words on a football, but thanks all the same".

I am slowly adopting Republican views on these protestors.

They had women with their faces covered saying "Europe your 9/11 is on its way". Most of them live off hand outs that are paid for by my taxes.

What are the "Republican views" you speak of?

I always also found that the majority of Republicans are pro Iraq war and tend to be more anti Islam than your average Democrat.

However Republicans/Conservatives understand that sometimes war is a necessity; there are in fact those with whom you can not negotiate. It is the Republicans/Conservatives that have the stomach to do what must be done.

Republicans/Conservatives also support the military. They believe in allowing the trained professionals do their job and run the war as opposed to a politician sitting at their desk reading the latest polls.

As for being anti-Islam you are also mistaken on this matter as well. Anti-terrorist of any race, religion or creed? Absolutely. As for tolerance of Islam you will find Republicans/Conservatives truly do believe in ones right to worship as they please; unlike democrats/liberals who tolerate and accept you so long as you do not disagree with them.

**Note that when speaking of Republicans/Conservatives and Democrats/Liberals I am referring to the mainstream and not the fringe groups.

Stormy - welcome :)
Sounds like you are intimating that the war in Iraq is "necessary"? I may be reading soimething into your post that isnt there, but I interpret it that way?

If that was your intent, could you please tell me what made the Iraq war necessary, as being a former military member myself, I have searched for something that indicated a need for this war, and have yet to find a definitive answer.

That's why "Neon-Con" (no one in the administration is a conservative) Donald Rumsfeld pressured the military to accept only 120,000 troops instead of the 400,000 they said that they needed originally.

Believe what you will but the facts will not go away.

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about.

Every country has fanatics of some type, and, besides, we knew these people were like this when we went there.

Dropping freekin soccer balls on people from the air sounds like a pretty stupid and pointless idea to start out with - I wonder what genius thought up that way to spend money?

I think it would be cool for some troops to fly be in a helicopter and throw me footballs!

I bet the kids loved it, just the radical fundamentalists that messed it all up.

Same as it ever was. Same as it ever was.

I suspect that if you were living as a subject people under an occupation military, and the occupation military, instead of giving you what it promised in the way of food, roads, and freedoms, instead dropped footballs on you, you might not think it was so cool.

Despite the fact that you might go ahead and kick the balls anyway, since you were so dirt poor.
