Certainly you can't blame that on "NeoCons." You may want to get used to these stats as the liberal elites desire to see all (expect them) get the same substandard care.

As for the OP I can believe. Obesity is rampant in this country. C-Sections have now, for a vast majority, become a matter of want as opposed to medical necessity.

Combine obesity with major surgery and the risk of death just doubled.

The reason I ask is that most "neocon" activities were actually proposed or instituted by liberals and democrats - including the 10 fold increase in cost of medical care since 1960 (yes adjusted for inflation) and this was during a time when progress in medical science and electronics should have made everything cost less except for the involvement of government in the health care field. Based on the actual statistics, the neocons are the cause of the quagmire that the medical system is in - and I would have to find it again, but I believe if you search for population control and Henry kissinger you will find a good paper written by neocon think tanks some time ago that described the exact problems that we are seeing
