Damn, the Vietnam deserter is correct for once.

He deserted during Vietnam & he deserted this country going to war in Iraq.

Vietnam is a no-win insurgency fight, Iraq is a no-win insurgency fight.

Johnson lied to sell the war, Bush lied to sell the war.

Vietnam was profiteering for Bechtel, Iraq is profiteering for Bechtel.

He announced this revelation during a speech to a Veteran's Group, whom he has regularly shafted as well as troops, by shortchanging their care in everyway possible.

Johnson was a corrupt criminal, Bush is a corrupt criminal.

There are probably many more parallels between Iraq & Vietnam, but my time is limited.

You might go do some studying up - this is no where near the debacle Vietnam was - and comparing it is a waste of time as the societies involved and religious separations dont come close.

Im so sick of people that try to compare this Iraqi civil war to anything else instead of just comparing it to the Iraqi wars back in the 1920s which were exactly the same as this one - and eventually England had to pull out and Iraq finally became an independant democratic republic which stood for a long time until The US went in and arranged for a military group (Saddams groups) to take over and dissolve the republic

Makes you sick when you think that we build up all of this talk about "instilling" democracy when we were the ones that took it away from the Iraqis originally and gave Saddam financial and military aid to wipe out the rebel villages with chemical weapons - again - just a throwback to the same thing Churchill did when he was running things in Iraq
