NAFTA II goes stealth: Security & Prosperity Partnership

Mexican, US & Canadian government leaders are attempting to create a NAFTA II.
But fearing opposition they are going to do it entirely 'stealth' by implementing it all in regulatory edicts rather than utilize actual legislation.

Business interests are twisting it into everyone of their crooked, wicked wishes and completely excluding all the people of each nation upon whom it will be imposed.

the SPP is being negotiated with input exclusively from the business elites in the three countries. Given the wide scope of areas under negotiation - national security, energy, trade - surely there's a need for a much wider consultation involving the public.

Since the SPP initiative was officially launched in March 2005, the public has been effectively shut out of the process. There's been little awareness, let alone public debate, about what's going on. Do you read Foreign Affairs, disrupter? The Council on Foreign Relations has published various parts of this plan for years. It doesn't stop with Canada, USA & Mexico. Eventually it will include all of the Americas into a common union similar to the EU.

Hardly a conspiracy or stealth since the outline is published.

Well obviously this is not all above board.

I guess it is very smart not to give it an easy acronym, absent a vowel.
NAFTA sounds like a word, SPP is harder for people to hook to as an abstract concept.

I still think this is an irresponsible media in bed with cynical corrupt government in bed with criminal corporations all at the expense of US citizens.

I have never heard of this until now.
I am quite aware of all the resentments & questions about NAFTA,
if people were generally aware of what is going on i think they would have many appropriate objections to this NAFTA II.

Essentially this is a construct built in parts rather than as a whole.
Like one of those guns you can disassemble so it is much less apparent that it is still a gun.

A multinational business agenda is driving the upcoming summit meeting of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, according to a document obtained through an Access to Information Act request in Canada.
