Greg Palast, in his book, "Armed Madhouse", reveals that neocons pushed for the invasion of Iraq in order to privatize Iraq's oil industry & thus blowing up OPEC. They believed this would make it much more difficult for the Saudi royals to fund all the groups who are attempting to destroy Israel ( the Saudi royals say they must fund these groups as well as the insurgency in Iraq or these groups will turn around & attempt to bring about the royals demise). Well, Big Oil had other plans, for what's good for OPEC is good for Big Oil. So after the invasion Big Oil came in & said " Oh no you don't neocons, we're doing things our way," which caused the neocons to run back to W Bush crying about how the meainie Big Oil won't let them play like they wanted to, to which W Bush replied, " hey, what to do you want from me, I don't run things 'round here but you're more than welcome to visit me on my ranch in Crawford, Hickass 'n cut wood with me," ( the last 5 lines are my interpertation of a fictionalized conversation which may or may not have taken place).
