Another eee-ville corporation gets its just desserts from the Obamanation!
(NEWS CENTER) -- WalMart officials announced Sunday they will begin using a third-party marketing company to run the in-store demo program at its Sam's Club locations, including stores in Maine.
That move results in the loss of 10,000 jobs which represents roughly 9-percent of the overall warehouse staff in the United States.
President and CEO Brian Cornell says he is turning to a company called Shopper Events.
On the corporate website Cornell explains that Shopper Events will hire roughly the same number of people to handle the new business and that those losing their jobs with WalMart will have the opportunity to apply for a job with Shopper Events.

Your trying to blame President Obama for walmart subcontracting their in-store demo department.
Its stupidity like this that proves you really don't have a clue how the real world works.

They're cutting their losses slowly before the Obamanation "success penalty" hits them.
You know, like the BANKS who make a profit. Stupid moonbat.

10,000 less jobs=higher profits=higher return for stockholders.
I don't see the problem. You can't complain about Wall St. tanking, while complaining about increased profits.
Sooner or later, you're going to have to choose.
No jobs will be lost. The employees have an opportunity to rehire w/the new contractor.
I'm betting this turns into a win/win.
Now, Walmart closing down that store when they tried to unionize, does my heart good.

I notice you didn't comment on the "success penalty" he has placed on banks. It sounds unconstitutional to "pick" out who you want to "punish" for being successful with a tax. He will discover "talking" about jobs is a whole different story than actually creating them. The people certainly know the difference.

I'm sure it's a cost saver for Wal-Mart. Instead of having to hire demonstrators and keeping them on no matter how much they use them, a third party can supply the service on a contract basis, and use the same or fewer 10,000 people to do the same at other stores.

Not to mention the other costs of having employees.
It'll probably work out fine, as long as the ex WM workers actually get new positions. Perhaps Wallyworld made a stipulation in the contract.

You're going to have to give me a link to the penalty issue. I'm not familiar with it.
Meanwhile, why do you complain about the free market system working? Gains in the market? Probably not. The executives that you like to defend will probably buy another house.
What's your favorite line? "These people should go to college, and better themselves"

Wal-Mart is still hiring, just not those jobs.

Some jobs become obsolete. Others are in demand. The free market works.
Get some marketable skills.

You're going to have to give me a link to the penalty issue. I'm not familiar with it. You mean you're not aware of what happened with the banks last week? Obama penalized banks for making profits as a form of damage control for his MA smack-down. He thinks people are angry at the banks and Boooossh, not him. Typical serial narcissist.
Meanwhile, why do you complain about the free market system working? Gains in the market? Probably not. The executives that you like to defend will probably buy another house. I'm not complaining about the free market. Downsizing is now a trend in all states, all companies, just about. Just more people on the UE rolls.
What's your favorite line? "These people should go to college, and better themselves" Absolutely. That hasn't changed. Minimum wage jobs are for students and retirees, not careers. Anyone who chooses to work there is doing so by choice.

Your opinion. If you want to discuss it, you're going to have to get me a link.

Not complaining? One day you address limits on Wall St./Corporations, and now you blame a profit driven move on Obama?
Choose one, and try to stick with it.

Great. So explain why this is an Obama issue?

Your opinion. If you want to discuss it, you're going to have to get me a link. Google "Volcker rule banks Obama".
Funny you knew of this three days ago on another board; now you don't know what happened. It was Obama's reponse to the MA smackdown. He said people are angry with the banks and Boooossh, not him. The stock market fell 500 pts in three days, hopefully it was only temporary.

Great. So explain why this is an Obama issue? Sounds to me like they're getting lean and mean.
Restructuring and downsizing are the trend as companies wait for the other shoe to drop or the next "success" penalty. Just par-for-the-course in a nation where the "President" conducts a war against private business. And thanks to dumb America, that's what we're stuck with...

Great.
By your own admission, small business is the backbone of America.
Walmart destroys small businesses on a daily basis.
If Walmart is waiting for the other shoe to drop, then you should be hailing Obama as the savior of small businesses.

Oh....I didn't recognize what you were trying to discuss.
Your warped rhetoric makes no sense.
Banks being punished for being successful?:lmao2: :lmao2:
If we discussed this the other day on another board, then you don't need my opinions here. You know where I stand.
Dear Minti,
This is a funny post. For a decade China is allowed to manipulate their currency making it profitable for companies like Walmart to outsource countless jobs over seas.
The Chinese economy grows to massive numbers.
Walmart outsources a vast amount of jobs to China.
People praise the economic policies of the administration.
Wing Nuts praise Walmart.
Now Walmart is outsourcing 10,000 jobs to an American company. A smaller company. Jobs that Americans will still have and Obama is terrible for it. :lmao2:
Come one Minti. At least try to act real.
We didn't see a major stock market crash and Walmart stock went up.
Why is this terrible and how can we blame it on Obama?
