It wasn't a state dinner, and they didn't crash it on purpose. Still, a Georgia couple who showed up at the White House a day early for a tour somehow wound up at an invitation-only breakfast with President Barack Obama and the first lady. It left the White House once again explaining how people who were not on an event guest list wound up being ushered into the presidential mansion anyway.

Is the secret service intentionally letting these people into private events in the hope that somebody attacks Mr Obama?

they were already cleared for a white house tour.. they did appropriate security screenings and background checks.

Uninvited tourists attend White House breakfast, meet Obama

Hogansville, Georgia (CNN) -- A Georgia couple arrived at the White House on the wrong day for a tour recently and got much more than they bargained for.

After being screened by the Secret Service, Harvey and Paula Darden of Hogansville, Georgia, were led into a lavish invitation-only breakfast where they met the president and the first lady.

How the couple was able to get into the White House event without being on the guest list was called "dumb luck" by the Dardens. The White House is calling it a "nice gesture" and has been explaining how this incident is nothing like the breach of security that took place when Tareq and Michaele Salahi infamously crashed the Obamas' state dinner.

The Dardens got into the White House on Veterans Day, weeks before the Salahis' infamous party crashing. The couple mistakenly arrived a day early for a tour that was booked by their congressman.

The White House says it put the Dardens through the appropriate screenings and criminal background checks before allowing them to go to the Veterans Day breakfast because there were no tours scheduled that day.

from get a clues post....sorry for you pathetic attempt at editing and btw whats with no link??? links are reqiured on ALL POST from other sites.

Sorry about starting another thread on the topic. I didn't realize this one was here when I did. But to comment on this one, this was NOT the fault of the Obama White House. The secret service let these people in. The White House staff did the right thing by allowing them to stay and to be include in the breakfast.

Love Obama or hate him, when he does something right, we should all acknowledge it.

An invitation-only breakfast and a tour are two completely different things.

I didn't "edit" it, I just didn't post the complete article, so as to save internet paper.

I did post the link.

#1 Suurprise, Suurprise, Suurprise.

Party crasher Salahi reportedly also has ties to the Arab American Action Network, or AAAN through Obama pal and campaign fund raiser Rashid Khalidi. Khalidi's wife Mona is an AAAN co-founder.

Columbia University professor Rashid Khalidi, also has held a fundraiser for Obama. Khalidi is a harsh critic of Israel, has made statements supportive of Palestinian terror and reportedly has worked on behalf of the Palestine Liberation Organization while it was involved in anti-Western terrorism and was labeled by the State Department as a terror group.

He was a veteran. He passed through proper security/background checks.

Fine, I get it, as long as somebody is a veteran, they should be allowed into "invitation only" events at the White house, after being screened.
What I am not clear about is this though, do they have to be a US veteran, or does any veteran status work for you?
