Democrat Scrooges on DC School Vouchers
It's official. Most Democrats on Capitol Hill really don't care about the educational rights of minority children. Congress is on a path to destroy the wildly popular DC Opportunity Scholarship Program that gives inner city kids the chance to go to the same schools the pols' kids go to. Read this devastating letter to key Democrat pols written by Washington-area philanthropist and school choice advocate Joe Robert.
President Obama, whose daughters attend the elite Sidwell Friends School has also sold his soul to the teachers unions on this, despite what he said last January in an open letter to his girls published in PARADE magazine. "[I] want every child to have the same chances to learn and dream and grow and thrive that you girls have." How hollow that reads today. Mr. President, here's my Christmas wish: that you will do the right thing by these kids and their families and stand up to the teachers unions and their political enablers on Capitol Hill.

Get the damn unions out of the education business. All Patriots should demand an accounting for good government and demand that education come first.

Good education is local.
Why is that???
Why is that???
The needs of a New York inner city youth are entirely different than the needs of a rural Bakersfield farmer youth. Want more examples?

We need to get the communists and queers out of the education business so our children have an education instead of an indoctrination. That's why education should be local. The Feds are doing a lousy job. American children in the public education system are falling further behind the rest of the world every year. It's a national disgrace.

We need a safe school czar.

What do you know about Bakersfield farmers.............:lmao2: :lmao2:
So we teach plowing & planting in Bakersfield & personal security in NYC..........
I think math & English is the same...............
We don't need 50,000 school districts IMO.............. You ppl wanna cut back & yet you duplicate the same shit countless times around the country paying superintendents & their bureaucracies billions..............:disbelief:

I was born in Bakersfield (Shafter didn't have a hospital), I know a bit about the area. Want me to tell you about other areas of CA I am familiar with?
Math and English is the same, but do you honestly think that kids from such varied cultural backgrounds as New York City and Bakersfield actually learn the same way? Are the going to grow up and have the same types of jobs?
So far, federal education programs seem to be a dismal failure. No Kid Left Behind is a good example.

The fed sucks at controlling education, and the state can to if the state is varied enough. Let's compare Bakersfield, San Diego, San Francisco, Fresno, Chico, and San Jose.
Actually, oakie's were the ones that relocated from Oklahoma. My great-grandfather settled in CA when he arrived from Germany.

The cities mentioned have varied needs when it comes to education. A state mandate will not meet the best needs of the citizens. I should have said Oakland to, lots of inner city there, which is much different than a place like Fresno or Chico.

OK so lets assume those various locations have different needs... DO we need three or four of them in Chico??
DO we need 10 in Okland & san Leandro?? That is a lot of over head there....

Probably not.
For a place like Oakland, probably 3.
1 for highly urban, 1 for highly suburban, and 1 for the outlying areas.

See that is what I am saying as far as the duplication... Ok there are some concerns that need to be considered in order to help the kids in the various location but I think lots of this is could be done away w/ & those ppl could go back to teaching or retire on the money they leeched from taxpayers........
