I don't think that war and terrorism are the same thing. War is the fight itself. Terrorism is a tactic used in war. Usually the one with the biggest budget doesn't resort to terrorism.

1. Terrorist strike fear into the population in order to get their end result. Example, they demanded that we remove our military bases from Saudi Arabia and we did.

Since they didn't have the military budget to force us out through war they attack our civilians and shortly after our government gave into their demand.

It cost surprisingly little to get the largest military in the world to leave Saudi Arabia.

2. Those with military budget can out spend and out fight the military of their foe and don't need to terrorize the civilians. If Bin Laden had the military budget to attack the US bases in SA maybe that's what he would have done but he didn't.


Unfortunately a lesson still must be learned. We saw that terrorizing a nation can get you the exact results that you demand (removing the military from SA and bankrupting America).

We haven't learned that doing the opposite can get you the support of the people. Afghanistan could have been won in 2002 if we spent time rebuilding for the the people. We could have rebuilt Afghanistan after the cold war and the terrorists wouldn't of had a place to train.

Yep.......... It is one of the poorest places on earth........

We spend billions & billions to keep them down & could have spent 1/80th of that & made them feel like kings...........
