Here's a thought for you.

THe USA has this shame trial in NYC for these terrorists.

Can they get an honest and fair trial there? Probably not. Either they will get convicted or some dumb ass judge will disallow evidence and set them free, now wouldn't that be a hoot?

But all that crap aside let's look at it from the perspective of the terrorists.

Should they try to free these assholes? If so what can they do? How do they do it? What is the likelihood of being sucessful? (about zero, I think)

So what should the terrorists do? Blow shit up, kill more Americans in the subways and on the streets? Attack the courthouse with RPGs or what?

Attack other cities and leave New York alone? How should they respond?

Do nothing? Let the trial run its course.

If they do nothing than what are they telling other jhiadists? We no longer care what you do on Allah's behalf it doesn't matter because once you are caught you are on your own and we don't care about you? Its the price you pay to be a warrior. In other words, thanks for the memories, but screw you, fellow jhiadist. We will abandon you in your time of need. You mean nothing to us, no matter what price you may have paid on our behalf? We'll consider you a martyr to the cause but that is as far as we are going to go on your behalf because we really don't care about you or our other fellow jhiadists. We are a bunch of gutless, worthless assholes who care only about ourselves and damn sure wouldn't risk our asses on your behalf. The "cause" is so much bigger than you. By the way, save a virgin or two for me when you get to Allah Heaven.

So, if they do nothing, absolutely nothing, what do they tell the rest of the world's islamic shitheads? You don't matter. We don't care. Your sacrifice is irrelevant? We expect you to suffer and die for Allah because Allah doesn't give enough of a shit about you to direct us to come save your ass? Allah just wants martyrs, he doesn't care about you personally? You really mean nothing to Allah.

I gotta believe these guys have some meaning to the other jhiadists terror cells all over this country and that they absolutely must feel some sort of obligation to do something on their behalf.

So, will NY be the only target or can we expect a coordinated attack throughout America during the trial?

ARe you ready for what may come?

Wow. That was a ramble and a half. The reason they are being tried at all is the real question. The fact that its in new York is even more of a travesty. The defendants, if you can call them that both requested the death penalty by military tribunal long ago. Our military had the right to fufill this request but our President sees it fit to put on trial not two scumbag jihadists but the country, our country. American values will be dragged through the mud along with the CIA, Military, and politicians who voted to go to war. Its a dog and pony show to ultimately paint us as overlords and encourage more Muslim attacks. Thanks Pres.

Pretty damn amazing. No comments from the liberal side or the terrorist supporters.

Maybe its too much of a stretch for them to consider what this dumb ass decision could produce.

Unintended consequences, ain't they a bitch.

Does no one think ahead anymore?

I think the real question should be why did it take SEVEN YEARS to get this man to trial and why did it take someone like Obama to do it? he should have been taken straight to court, tried and if convicted sent to jail or death, whatever the judge decided LONG BEFORE NOW?!

Probably because we were interrogating the shit out of the asshole and he does not deserve a trial as he is a prisoner of war, he is not a criminal defendant.

Problem solved.

Not to worry.

As long as everyone is carrying a credit card as a method of self defense, any terrorists attack will fail miserably.

It can even be an expired card.

Churchill on Habeas Corpus

By Scott Horton

[T]he great privilege of habeas corpus, and of trial by jury, which are the supreme protection invented by the English people for ordinary individuals against the State . . . —The power of the Executive to cast a man into prison without formulating any charge known to the law and particularly to deny him the judgement of his peers—is, in the highest degree, odious and is the foundation of all totalitarian governments (http://www.harpers.org/archive/2007/05/hbi-90000030) . . . Extraordinary powers assumed by the Executive with the consent of Parliament in emergencies should be yielded up, when and as, the emergency declines . . . This is really the test of civilisation.

—Winston S. Churchill, Cable to Home Secretary Herbert Morrison from Cairo (Churchill responds to critics over the decision to release accused Nazi collaborator Oswald Moseley), Nov. 21, 1943. Reproduced in The Second World War: Closing the Ring (1952) .

Who are the terrorist supporters on this board?
Does no one think ahead anymore?
The last President had a staff that was good at thinking ahead. That's why he didn't put these guys on trial and waited until someone else took office. That's why the wars were kept going. That's why the loans were giving to the car companies. That's why the $700 B was pushed through congress last year.

The reason they are being tried at all is the real question.
Because this is America and those are our values. Sure, the last President refused to deal with this issue but the new President isn't going to let fear guide him and is stepping up to do what the last President refused to do.
