I enjoyed it as an adventure story. I wasn't dissapointed that I rented it.

It was pretty hokey at some points, but wtf, it's a movie, I can allow for some hoke.

yeah i was actually laughing at some points, mostly in the last third of the movie... i was just happy to pay for a movie where it wasn't a chore to watch the whole thing...

i think the best movie i have seen in a long time stars Justin Timberlake, Alpha Dog was pretty good

i watched Deja Vu, Blood Diamond, The Good Sheperd, Casino Royale, Smokin' Aces and imo they all are a ripoff even if you see them for free because you are wasting your time

I watched it, and I thought it was good, too. However, Mel Gibson should have expanded the ending so we could all see what happen to the oppressors who destroyed the Mayan villiage. Other good movies you'd might like to watch are called "Pride" with Terrence Howard, And "Premonition" with Sandra Bullock both are really good. I also watched "The Last King of Scottland" With Forrest Whitaker, he really was good in that movie. :)

very good... 'haunting'... in a way. I like to read about old and ancient civilizations and the movie renewed an interest in the Maya. BTW National Geographic has a cover story on the Maya this month... a good "lunch-hour" read.

I was watchng something the other day about the Kombai tribe that lives today, some crazy stories... when somebody gets sick and mentions the name of another that person is a "suangi" (or something like that, I forget for sure) and then gets chopped up and eaten for causing the sick person to die... of course the sick person has to die first before the suangi is killed so there are some protections built in lol

there were three brothers telling how they had to bind their brother and give him to the family of the dead person who labeled him as a suangi before they died so they could kill him and eat him, saying stuff like "we didn't want to, but we had to give him to them" because that is their tradition and they cannot break it or else... some pretty crazy shit still going on these days
