View Full Version : The first Senator uncovered in the DC Madams records is... (drum roll)
The junior Republican from the bible-thumpin' state of Louisiana!
He's says he's sorry, and that God has forgiven him.
http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/07/09/dc.madam.ap/index.html
"Sen. David Vitter, R-Louisiana, apologized Monday night for "a very serious sin in my past" after his telephone number appeared among those associated with an escort service operated by the so-called "D.C. Madam."
Sen. David Vitter apologized after his telephone number appeared among those linked to the "D.C. Madam."
Vitter's spokesman, Joel Digrado, confirmed the statement in an e-mail sent to The Associated Press.
"This was a very serious sin in my past for which I am, of course, completely responsible," Vitter said in the statement. "Several years ago, I asked for and received forgiveness from God and my wife in confession and marriage counseling. Out of respect for my family, I will keep my discussion of the matter there -- with God and them. But I certainly offer my deep and sincere apologies to all I have disappointed and let down in any way."
The statement containing Vitter's apology said his telephone number was on old phone records of Pamela Martin and Associates before he ran for the Senate.
Deborah Jeane Palfrey was accused in federal court of racketeering by running a prostitution ring that netted more than $2 million over 13 years, beginning in 1993. She contends, however, that her escort service, Pamela Martin and Associates, was a legitimate business.
Vitter, 46, a Republican in his first Senate term, was elected to the Senate in 2004."
Since her records were just released, somebody is certain to be starting a scandal count - we'll have to watch for that.

Bill Clinton can get sucked off in the oval office with no complaints but we should crucify a republican senator who called an escort service four years ago?
You liberals are savages when it comes to hypocrisy.

Bill Clinton was the best republican president ever if you call the Clinton’s liberal I really have to question what you know about politics. The next thing you’re going to say is the republicans controlling the United States government from 2000 to 2006 were real conservatives wrong again not even close. Nothing against you but this country is headed for the toilet and I know that neither any real conservative nor any real liberal is going to let it happen.
WE, WE THE PEOPLE are beyond the head games played by the commercial media and WE THE PEOPLE have to rein in these criminals.
So if barking out the brain washing mantras you seem to like to display will not help America. Do a gut check and decide what you want to do; defended the Constitution of the United States or repeat the dribble it is all that's left.

I wish more senators would spend their time fucking whores. The more time they spend banging prostitutes, the less time they spend legislating away my freedoms.

Ummm - no complaints???? I believe the guy was censured in congress as a response to the blowjob in the oval office after the attempt to impeach him - but I guess that doesnt measure up to "crucifying" someone?
Since Im not a liberal I guess it wasnt pointed at me but anything like this should be exposed - doesnt matter whether its democrats, republicans or independants, tories etc.....

I should have added that the real hypocrisy lies in the fact that these people that will be exposed all ran for congress and won based on a family-values platform - which makes the whole thing a total lie and therefore he should not be representing the people that elected him according to the laws in the Constitution

Maybe banging whores is allowed in their family values. You should be more tolerant of those who differ in beliefs and values from yourself.

well as long as god forgave him i think the problem is moot... you know "the lord is my sheperd therefore i am a sheep, and never responsible for my own actions"

I didn't like Clinton, but that was because his economic and legal policies were basically pro-corporate republicanism.
Nowadays I admit to looking back with a certain nostalgia at the halcyon days of Clintonism - he may have gutted the american economy, but compared to the current republican mess those were profoundly moral and american times.
I never gave one shit about his getting a blowjob in the oval office closet - obsession with sex is a republican pursuit.
And I fully expect the ultimate list of the DCMadams clients will equally represent both parties.
Altho I do note, Clinton didn't have to pay for it, monica got on her knees willingly and with no cash exchanged.

Bill Clinton is still getting bashed over it.
Why are you making it a partisan issue? It's kind of funny really. Of course the funniest part is this guy say that God has already forgiven him.

Larry Flynt having something to do with it might actually be funnier than him believing god already forgave him before he walked thru the gates of heaven to be judged

If I ever run for office...I'm making sure my platform includes "I will use the power you give me to corrupt as many women in Washington as possible. Interns, hookers, madams, you name it...I'll do it!"
In fact that could be my campaign slogan...I'll do it!

have you guys heard the latest on this guy? he seemed to love his whores back in the day but it seems his wife knew about it and forgave him, or they are just trying to save the gravy train, he went back to work as usual this week...
the ironic thing is that he got into office to replace another republican who got booted for well what do ya know, infidelity :disbelief:
I think the funniest part is that, as I recall, having read it somewhere, this guy originally ran as an anti-clintonite, and his wife gave a somewhat infamous speech in which she said she'd cut off his dick if she ever caught him doing what clinton did.
So, she's just another big liar.
Unless he's now dickless.
Maybe FOX could get him to take off his pants for a reality check?

:lmao2: immoral-but very true. That's why Bill Clinton was loved by most American's-he ran his administration extremely well, unemployment was at an all time low, his approval ratings were high, he said he understood women, and women flocked to him because he ruled with a strong but just f*ck stick:D

In all honesty, I don't think Vitter's private sex life isn,t a big deal, because he didn't rape anyone. And, if his wife was gullable enough to forgive him, then enough said. Hell, infidelity is rampant on Capital Hill-it's just that the majority of politicians haven't been caught, and that's why none of them came out in mass number to condem Vitter, because the majority of them know they have done the same thing, and could be exposed some day, too. There are politicians on Capital Hill right now with illegitimate children from affairs. And, look at what happened to the Republicans' homosexual golden boy, Mark Foley. He was aloud to chase after young male pages for penis, for years-and all the republicans did was turn a blind eye and act like it wasn't happening, so they could pretend to be the hollier than though Christian right. When Foley was exposed and humiliated all over the news medias, the republicans made a last ditch effort to try and smooth the matter over like it was nothing. However, Foley was a criminal who got over by checking into rehab, because some of the pages he was chasing after were under 18 years of age. And, to this day, nothing has been said about what has finally happened to Mark Foley-gee, I wonder if this coward is still sniveling up in rehab to keep from going to jail. So, the republicans are just as guilty as the democrats when it comes to immoral sexual behavior. We should be paying more attention to what these politicians are doing with our tax dollars that is benefitting us, instead of corporate interests overseas.:disbelief: :D

Maybe I shouldnt bring this up in a rather close minded discussion - but if this guy admits to doing it he has admitted to a crime which he should be arrested for just like any other "john" that pays for sex in Wash DC - saying its a little "immoral" doesnt cut it when youre talking about the people that make laws breaking them

Laws, especially victimless crimes like prostitution, are for us, not them.

Maybe because we are too apathetic to do anything about it - or even care? I know Ive already made my voice heard - have you? Im sure your congressman would love to hear this opinion that the laws dont apply to them

I don't vote for Reps or Dems because they support these type of laws. They vote for these types of laws because they think either A) they know what is best for us or B) the got paid to vote for it by lobbyist. Sometimes both.
Both of our last two presidents admittedly did drugs, yet both increased funding for our absurd drug war.

Might try calling their offices - or even emailing them with your opinion - ya know - voice your opinion - you dont have to vote for someone to correspond with them - although I would be interested in who you did vote for?(although I understand thats a personal decision but would love it if youd share)

Thats great - unfortunately there are a lot of people that tend to frequent boards that complain all day yet when asked who or what they vote for and what actions they take when they disagree with something - the answer is usually either silence or "I dont vote or write/call/email cause it dont count" type idiotic responses

If you told my congressmen my name, he would know who I am. Senators, maybe not so much, but I do write them. Sonny Perdue never responds to me because I have ruined him too badly.
Kres is actually a rightwing apologist, pretending to be a libertarian.
When you analyze his presentations, it's boils down to apology, apology, apology.
He never offers anything remotely resembling a solution, or even the barest approach to a solution.
But he always has time to bash the dems, and slyly suggest the republicans are somehow better.
The perfect op.

LMAO @ thinking Republicans are better, just as worthless as the Dems. My solution, vote for politcians who will actually return freedom to the people instead of big government bureaucracy controlling our lives, you won't find it in the Republican or Democratic parties.
I am for free markets, not a Republican ideal.
I am for freedom of choices and personal responsibility, not a Republican ideal.
I am for limiting the power of the federal government, not a Republican ideal.
I am for following the Constitution, not a Republican ideal.
I am against nation building, which the Republicans are for.
I am against any kind of morality legislation, not so of the Republicans.
I could go on for a while. However none of these are ideals of the democrats either. They to are for restricting the free market, against personal responsibility, favor big government, want to legislate morality, and as long as they are in power, don't mind nation building.
When people bash Reps for things, lets make sure we bash the Dems as well. If anyone actually bashed Dems here, I would remind them the same of the Republicans.
