View Full Version : For those receiving socialized care that are against socialized care

FUCKING HYPOCRITES!!!!

The ppl in our government get socialized (as defined by them) healthcare... If we have care or not we are paying for their care...

Isn't it a bit disingenuous for the folks leading the charge like dick army to have care all of their life payed for by the taxpayers & advocating others be denied it...

his exclusive clip is from the latest episode of "Bill Moyers Journal," which airs tonight. In the episode, Moyers goes after FreedomWorks Chairman Dick Armey -- one of the key figures using large industry donations to fund "Tea Party" rallies around the country, such as the the 9/12 march in Washington DC last week.

"Here's the catch," Moyers says after showing video clips with protesters decrying "the lies" coming from the Obama administration. "Something these marchers who came to Washington at Armey's urging could hardly be expected to know. For most of his adult life, their leader has benefited from just the kind of government tax-supported health care he's fighting to keep them from having too."

It's a fascinating run down of Armey's adult life working in universities and for the government, made comfortable and secure by state-funded health care -- "the Cadillac of coverage."

"Dick Armey is the epitome of those people with power and privilege who are insured against the vicissitudes of life and want no government assistance for any suffering except their own," Moyers says.

So because these guys are on federal payroll, they have to support every measure that gives people federally funded benefits?

You're being silly.

Bill - I certainly do not hope you're lumping military retirees into the "Social Healthcare" pile.

Unlike what the Messiah is proposing, we are free to pick and choose our doctors, dentists, other providers with absolutely NO government intervention whatsoever.

We merely show our ID, the doctors office bills Uncle Sugar. That's it. I haven't had to speak on the phone with one U.S. Government braindead DRONE in the 10 years I have used the benefit - nor have I ever been subjected to the runaround and paperwork that will surely come with this 1400-page nightmare that no one understands.

Anytime the government says "trust me," you're gonna get fucked.

If Obama's healthcare proposal is as simple and efficient as Tricare, I wish someone could cite the sentence of the bill that says just that so I can accept what it is he's proposing.

Until then - the government - and Obama - can keep their fucking hands off of our earned benefit that works just fine, thank you very much Obama. Anyone else want to enjoy it -

After 20+ years of serving your country - you'll get yours too.

Actually I agree with bill on this...they have what amounts to socialized, government run and funded health care yet they decry daily against any reform that gives the general public the exact same kind of care. They can not have it both ways...if it is good for them it is good for us or just give up what you have and go with what we have.

Ah, no they don't.
They're entitled to a health care package. Comes with their position. It's a benefit.
Now, what you want is a handout.

it would be a benefit IF they actually worked for the people and listened to us and the reasons we elected them....seeing as they have not done that in quite some time and listen more to lobbyists, special interests and the voices in their heads I really dont see it as a benefit of ANY KIND...more a luxury or perk so they dont have to pay out of pocket...heaven forbid that tainted lobbyist money goes to pay for it.

Anyway Bill, you solved the problem, you need coverage, sign up, serve your country and you will get the coverage you need. Surely you aren't stupid enough to suggest everyone should get the same coverage and care military people get sans the same service?

Yea we had this debate before....

You served & got what every other fucking bum in the civilized world gets for nothing........ Sorry I can't fix that but I am more than willing to compensate all vets in some way if that can be done...

You sacrificed for your nation.....Those 43,000,000 are a part of what you sacrificed for... Allowing them to have the same type of care everyone in the civilized world has, including you & the folks @ GITMO is not asking to much IMHO....

Further you may wish to check your self on this.... Because you had to earn it should not be a valid reason to deny others the same w/ their tax dollars...

This reminds me of a story, one you may also have read: "When those hired first came, they thought that they would receive more; but each of them also received a denarius. 11 "When they received it, they grumbled at the landowner, 12 saying, `These last men have worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the scorching heat of the day.' 13 "But he answered and said to one of them, `Friend, I am doing you no wrong; did you not agree with me for a denarius? 14 `Take what is yours and go, but I wish to give to this last man the same as to you. 15 `Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with what is my own? Or is your eye envious because I am generous?' 16 "So the last shall be first, and the first last."

Just a thought....

Because we have roads we should have government control everyhting, great logic there. Americans should get what they can afford, no more.

No Bill, the fact is you and others could get together and take care of whoever you want to health care wise. You don't need government to do that. The reason it has to be government is because insuring and helping others is not the goal, if it was you'd already be doing it. The goal is to increase government power and reach the police state. You will continue to dodge this though.

Did brig duty in Norfolk - late 70s.
Plenty of "vets" in there - none deserving of anything.
MANY - I repeat - MANY a scumbag in the military. Hell, I meet many to this day - riding with PGR.
You can spot a fucking "poser" a mile away.
"VIETNAM VET."

"Where'd ya serve?"

"120 miles off coast in A/C spaces of a CIC aboard USS Forrestal." Three squares a day, laundy done weekly (twice), steady pay, never got shot at.

Wow! Tough fucking duty... LOL!!!

You'd be surprised how many claim this as "Vietnam" service - although it was, hardly the getting shot at image they'd like you to think.

And we lived like KINGS aboard ship!!

Slept in berthing compartments with 85 criminals and scumbags, some guy's asshole right in your face, no privacy, public showers, making far less than your civilian counterpart, rarely hot water, theft, fights, food similar to what you'd get in a prison, division officers/supervisors who are complete idiots/morons/asskissers, six-seven months at sea with virtually no contact with family left behind, get shot at, stand all sorts of meaningless watches, pull all sorts of rediculous work details, noise, depression, danger, lonliness, fires, exposure to all sorts of hazmats, getting beaten/mugged/robbed by foreign nationals on liberty.

So thank you for proving my point. You hate liberals for hating the military...that you are now talking shit about. You want people to lick your balls and all servicemen for that matter because they signed a fuckin contract to serve and look at what the fuck is serving.

First of all, you chose it asswipe. If you didn't want to be on a ship you never should have stepped up to swear in. Don't expect to be getting any sympathy from anyone in here because of what you had to endure in the Navy.

Regardless... you receive socialized health care being a retired vet. You call it benefits and not handouts, but the semantics do not matter as long as you are receiving a socialized form of care.

Suck on that one SC... you have relied on the Government for most of your life for your care and well-being. You are nothing and never would have been anything without the Government holding your hand through your life.

It must be the life to live life knowing you will always have Uncle Sam to pay you on the 1st and the 15th, to house you, to clothe you, to take care of your family, your education, your KIDS' education... Oh.. and your health care.

But to satisfy you SC,

THANK YOU for serving in the United States Navy for 20+ years. Your sacrifice and service to your country is greatly appreciated. It must have been so hard.. and I thank God that you made it home in one piece. You are a hero SeniorChief... You are MY hero SeniorChief.

When I grow up, I want to be just like you.. an angry old veteran sitting around the bar at the VFW bitching about the state of the country... and not doing jack shit to change it.

..or did you really just enjoy the free shit you got for the little work you did???

In his defense, I'm sure he did a shit load of work while in the Navy. He made it pretty high in the rank structure which tells me he was good at what he did.

Personally speaking, if I was paid just $10 an hour while deployed overseas, I would have come home with 3-4 times more than I did. My hours were long and my food was always cold.

However, I didn't come back home expecting the entire world to bow down at my feet.

I don't expect and neither do I want to be treated like a hero.

And I would never judge someone else because he/she did not serve.

Something went wrong with SC and he forgot the core values taught through military service. As I said before, he and I were taken care of pretty well throughout our careers, but it sure wasn't any cakewalk.

Out of respect for you and the others on this board who did serve I will apologize for that cheap shot. I know exactly what you are talking about (well minus the combat part). I was with an engineer unit and long hot miserable days were all that we knew. Please forgive my emotional outburst.

Yes - the government.

That's who funds the military/takes care of us.

Yeah - fucktard. The government run military is one hell of great deal.

You're a fucking idjit... you do know that, right?

Suck on this -

Geeez!..Poor guy..Shoulda went on welfare :lmao2:

Ah yes, I know Ft. Useless well. In fact, I still return there every year for a conference - gives me an excuse to eat at Captain Georges' in Williamsburg. My former neighbor - an Army Colonel - used to drive to Ft. Belvoir every day for work. It's right up the road about 40 miles. And Ft. Story is a gorgeous place. Great beaches. Thanks for serving, even if you were in the Army ... LOL! Just kidding shipmate.

Ft Belvoir was cool as ti was close to DC but I was not fond of Ft Useless... I wanted to be on the west coast-thus why they sent me there...lol

I would not of minded the east coast if I could of been stationed on Virgina beach, I mean fort story.....:D That was the most laid back place I ever seen in the service....

When I went there it was practicably deserted & they had girlie posters on the walls in the company office & drank beer @ lunch in the company office (only a few)........ Great NCO club to w/ lots of local girls..

So now government supported healthcare is ok ONLY if you are working on behalf of the government? I suppose Medicare, Medicaid, S-Chip, government retiree handouts are all out then? While we are at it, I'm offended that some on the board would assume that everybody that would sign up for government care would not be working at all. Perhaps this will make a few extreme right ideology driven brains to wince even more, but millions of people work their asses off and still don't get covered. If they are willing to pay for healthcare, they should be able to get it without going bankrupt. Do you stupid people understand that?

...oh, and if you are 10 years old...screw you! You don't DESERVE anything...to hell with the best interests of our society.

Handouts? Well, I've yet to read a bill that suggests healthcare should be provided to anybody over the poverty limit at NO cost at all.

Sometimes reading really does help.
