Lost Nearly 1 Million Instead (http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2009/09/obama-promised-600000-jobs-this-summer.html)
Back on June 8th Barack Obama promised to speed up the Stimulus projects over the summer and to "create or save" 600,000 jobs.
u84pR96zWc0
The AP (http://www.youtube.com/user/AssociatedPress) reported: President Barack Obama is promising to speed federal money into hundreds of public works projects this summer, vowing that 600,000 jobs will be created or saved. (June 8)
The US lost 443,000 (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124964812540714249.html) jobs in June.
The US lost 247,000 (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124964812540714249.html) jobs in July.
The US lost 216,000 (http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/news/article.html?in_article_id=490330&in_page_id=2&position=moretopstories) jobs in August.
Instead of creating or saving 600,000 jobs this summer the US lost 935,000 instead !
Thanks Barack.

Umm ... How much of that Stimulus money that we had to rush through has actually been spent again?
So did you think he could turn the Bush economy around in 6 months? I didn't and I've always stated that it would take 18 to 30 months, just like it took Reagan, remember him?

Yeah, most of the stimulus money is going to be used to give us the feeling of a true recovery just in time for the 2012 election.

Got proof ?....oh that's right I forgot , on this board only the conservatives have to show proof.
Anyway, that is absolutely false, in fact President George W Bush saw this coming in 2002 after the Emeron collapse and tried to prevent this by putting in place more regulations and oversights on banks.

It's not Bush's watch anymore and things are MUCH worse.
Chairman Zero rammed thru an 11 trillion "stimulus" package, that was such an emergency the pols couldn't even read it. All we have now are more closed businesses and are teetering on the brink of double-digit unemployment.

I know bush is not president but none the less things that began then are being continued now... That according to Newt not just Bill....
Just as it is not fair to blame all the happened in the Markets on bush2, it is equally not fair to blame it all on Obama or expect it to be magically fixed in a few months... Not fair or realistic...
The mantra of dereg has been going on for many years now & they all played a part. Ronnie, Clinton Bush1 etc....
I will let Newt have the last word here:
Gingrich attacked President Barack Obama’s “monstrosity of a budget,” but acknowledged that Republicans are also to blame for the huge increase in federal spending, CNN reported.
“Remember, everything Obama’s doing, Bush started last year,” he said.
“If you’re going to talk about big spending, the mistakes of the Bush administration last year are fully as bad as the mistakes of Obama’s first two, three months.”

I can't figure out any other reason why Obama would be holding back?
This is evidence that even Obama knows the stimulus fasco will not work.
It's simply a ploy to give the appearence of recovery just prior to election.
Obama has bank-rupted America for no other reason than to get reelected.

Frank,
You got it half right. Obama promised to create or SAVE that number of jobs and I would say that with the radical reduction in the number of people that are now losing their jobs compared to how many were filing for unemployment under George W. Bush it seems obvious that he has kept that promise.
What kind of miracles do you expect him to pull off when Bush left him such a mess to clean up?
Why is it that conservatives never blame the ones that created the mess, but then want to bitch and moan about the Democrat not coming in and FIXING the problem fast enough.
News Flash here, Sparky . . . . maybe if Republicans stopped making these messes, you would not need to worry about how quickly the Democrat gets us back on our feet.

You never had a case, just you're uniformed opinion.
The Bush administration began warning of problems with Fannie and Freddie just three months into its first term, and continued doing so for years.
President George W Bush publicly called for government sponsered enterprise(Fannie and Freddy) reform 17 times in 2008 alone before Congress acted. Unfortunately, these warnings went unheeded, as the President’s repeated attempts to reform the supervision of these entities were thwarted by the legislative maneuvering of those who emphatically denied there were problems.

President George W Bush and Allen Greenspan both warned congress to pass additional legislation to further regulate Fannie and Freddie but the democrats wouldn't budge , obama included.
