FROM SENIORS OPPOSED TO AARP'S SELLOUT OF SENIORS (SOS)
The revolt of your members is here. You refuse to answer the legitimate, emotional and angry statements of each and every one of us who have expressed publicly our outright disgust at your sellout of seniors in this health care reform debacle.
No matter what you say, Medicare cuts will make seniors the big losers in this reform mess. Why should we trust the President? He has already told us to shut up and get out of the way.
Closer to home, why would anyone trust AARP either? Your members are rallying around the simple message that AARP has ignored our interests. You have deceived us into thinking you are for seniors. You are not.
AARP members are speaking out forcefully on your website and yet you ignore us. While trying desperately to pretend we aren't there, you are insulting us and we, in turn, are outraged. We are canceling our memberships, tearing up our cards, and doing it publicly. We are telephoning your contact center in droves demanding that you stop subverting seniors.
You have sold us out to do the bidding of the Administration. Seniors have become the enemy now. As Pelosi insults us as un-American, swastika wearing mob members, our numbers are growing. We know you are feeding us verbatim the same propaganda as the administration and unions. We know you are coordinating your marketing campaign with the White House. We are retired physicians, attorneys, executives, accountants, and politicians and frankly know more about this legislation than you.
The numbers of seniors, who now realize they will be the losers under this reform, are beyond containment. They will never again trust you on health care reform. You, Nancy Pelosi, and the President together were all trying to rush through a thousand pages of so-called "reform" but this was just a sellout of your membership.
You have lied to us on issues of proposed Medicare reductions, loss of subsidies for services to seniors in rural areas, and rationing of benefits for seniors while expanding services to illegals. AARP is boldly misrepresenting to seniors the serious legal, societal and personal implications of ghoulish death counseling for seniors in America.
All the while, AARP is displaying blatant conflicts of interest in pressing for the needs of non-seniors, advocating for the interests of ACORN and SEIU, among others, and kowtowing to the Obama administration at the White House while leaving seniors high and dry. To us, the organization has demonstrated its repeated intent to ignore the groundswell of protests from its members while obeying the Obama party line.
We as AARP members, we as informed seniors - grandparents and repository of the American spirit, the backbone of American life, we will not go away until every last one of us is heard and our needs addressed. You will refocus on the demands of your constituency or go down to defeat in the process.
